Vertigo Stone Villa

Really enjoyed our stay at this charming villa, a little more attention to detail could score 10

Stylish renovation of an old building retaining the character but with modern touches. George met us at the villa and was courteous and helpful. Lovely terrace and patio areas with sea and mountain views perfect for sunbathing. Aircon throughout. Good wifi. Comfortable furnishings. Pool a perfect temperature and depth (about 1.5m everywhere). Off-road parking (be aware that the streets of Roumeli are steep and narrow so choose a small hire car). There is a small supermarket within easy walking distance as well as a couple of basic cafes (the other supermarket and coffee shop appear to have closed down). There is also a taverna in the village and there is an excellent selection of restaurants a few minutes drive away on the coast at Panormos where we spent most evenings.

− Kitchen could be better equipped (no bread or carving knives, no wine glasses, rather random collection of crockery/cutlery/utensils/pots and pans). Outside lighting, pool light and water features not working which detracted from the atmosphere in the evenings. Barbeque and pizza oven are not functional (no grille on the barbeque and the door to the pizza oven does not open). Very musty smell in second bedroom which did not detract from our stay as we were only a couple. No aerial signal on either TV but you can use streaming services. Shower plumbing requires some attention. Some detergent for the washing machine would have been appreciated rather than having to buy a whole packet just for a couple of washes.
