Don't be fooled by the pictures and description!

2.0

The place is beautifully decorated and it does look like on the picture. A person that looks after the property is very sweet

As soon as I arrived I was informed and apologised for a constraction side that was meant to run from 8am till 5pm. They did in fact start at 8am but the works sometimes carried on till later, including Sundays, so no break from a noise right next to the property! And it's not the neighbour fixing up the fence, it's a major construction, like building the whole hotel or something. The fact that this wasn't mentioned until we arrived I find very sneaky as the booking is unrefundable (surprise, surprise...). And it's not that the works have only just started and they forgot to mention cause assuming from other reviews it's been going on from at least July 2025. As the building is made out of wood and glass the sound insulation is none existing. The earplugs that they kindly provide do not help at all! Especially as there is houndreds of roosters in the neighbourhood and they start their orchiestra as early as 4am! Combined with the construction noise and no sound insulation - exactly what you DON'T WANT when ypu are booking a villa far away from everything hoping to enjoy peace and blissful jungle vibes. After you experience your first super early morning and come out to the garden for a cup of a coffee make sure you watch your steps as there is pretty high changes you can step into chicken poo that comes with extras.... yes, they are infected with parasites and God knows what else that the eye can't see! Apart from chickens pooping all over the garden and spreading germs and diseases you can also be visited by some stray dogs and hope they don't bring rabies and won't be aggressive or not try to steal your food! I was shocked to find one, pretty big one too one morning! Luckily he kept his distance! But be aware that the fence around the property has lots of entrances for local animals. Very soon they may as well be able to get inside the house too as it's being eaten by a termites.

We could have not felt more welcome and part of the family

8.0

Location was great as we had a scooter. Cinta and family were very welcoming and generous with fruit and food that they cooked for us.

The toilet was downstairs and unfortunately the roosters were extremely noisy but that's what you get when staying in a village in Amed so nothing you can do about that. :)

Let down by electrical safety concerns

4.0

The property is set in beautiful jungle/countryside and feels very authentic. The pool and garden are great, the children enjoyed the hammock and swinging from the tree. The bedrooms are spacious.

It was extremely noisy in the mornings even with earplugs provided, construction noise plus relentless roosters and dogs. We could have got used to this, however, but unfortunately the property has a major problem with its electricity. It was extremely hot on arrival, one ceiling fan was broken and we were told that if we used too many electrical things - like A/C - at once the power would cut out. The light switches sparked and crackled when using them and the power went out every time someone had a shower, which was not only annoying as you'd be wet in the pitch black and had to go out in the garden to reset the fuse box, but our main concern was that it felt like a major safety hazard if wires were getting wet, and it's probably something the owners should investigate as a matter of urgency. We booked for a three night stay but left after one night. We explained the situation, the manager apologised briefly but the owner didn't reach out at all. Cannot recommend.

Great wooden villa in the jungles with authentic atmosphere!

8.0

Great hosts and a lovely atmosphere in the wooden villa. The spacious pool and surrounding area are perfect for relaxing, and the cute hammock adds a special touch. Amed Beach is just a short walk away. Beautiful interior and overall a wonderful stay!

There were occasional electricity shutdowns, especially when using the shower heater and air conditioning at the same time. It would also be nice if the villa perimeter were more planted or fenced to provide better privacy and reduce nearby construction noise.
