Location is probably the best in Shimla. A lot of character and charm, one of the oldest houses in Shimla. The bedroom comes with a small beautiful sit-out lounge which is really nice as it overlloks the ridge. The place is filled with small unique artifacts and lots and lots of books.

− Overall level of cleanliness, there is dust. Toilet needs upgradation. The caretaker and service staff are very sweet and nice, but limited in terms of luxury level of service one would expect in line with the daily rate for the property.

I would love to visit again, with a longer period of stay during winters

Excellent location, right at the mall. Excellent staff at the property. Excellent heritage property

− StayVista wrongly says on booking.com that “parking is available / included”, at the property, it is NOT. You are expected to park near the “lift”, and walk uphill with luggage and children etc. It’s not their fault, since cars are not allowed at the property, but should be transparent with customers. I had explicitly asked them about this, and they confirmed to me that it’s there before I made payment for the stay. It was unnecessary hassle, and was completely avoidable by being transparent. And being available to solve this problem; reaching them initially was a pain, they just did not respond over email / booking.com / WhatsApp (group that they had formed promptly, but then stopped reading my messages)

Grand residence in a perfect location but with a few downsides

Great location in the middle of everything in Shimla. Beautiful garden and generous rooms. Cute ensuite sitting room. Friendly and helpful staff.

− No central heating, making the rooms uncomfortable; the provided little electric heater did not help much with temperatures under 10 degrees at night. We were charged extra for tea and coffee, although breakfast was included in the price. Not a large sum but nevertheless unnecessary since the room rate was not cheap. Bathrooms were not cleaned when room was made up and at breakfast the cutlery was sticky, tablecloth dirty. Little things, but improvement of these would make a great difference!

Rejuvenate in the Heritage Villa with a colonial charm amidst Heart of Shimla

Extremely beautiful and well maintained heritage property at the Heart of Mall Road in Shimla. The caretaker Rakesh Ji and Rohit were very warm and welcoming and so was Cook dada. We felt like home away from home. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Lots of space to relax, read, work or just rejuvenate. Home cooked food which was always hot and fresh and hygienically prepared. We liked to sit in the garden in the front porch and enjoy bird watching. The property is located on Mall Road so we enjoyed our walks on Mall Road even till late in night enjoying the beautiful night life of Mall Road. I would recommend this property to those who are looking at experiencing some alone time in an old heritage villa with a colonial charm, reading call of the wild and walking through the lanes of Mall Road amidst the crowd. Good job team Sidhowal and Stayvista Best wishes and good luck!

This historic building is conveniently located just by the Ridge, Christ Church and the Mall. The staff running this wonderful Lodge are amazing. Each day we had home cooked food - it was delicious.
