It was a really quiet location overlooking a wood. You need a car to make the most of the area. The accommodation was perfect for our family. The pool was the highlight for our kids. It was a really good size and really clean. All of the appliances were really clean and seemed new. Overall would highly recommend.

− We found the mattresses quite hard but that might just be personal preference.

The villa was in a very quiet and peaceful location. It had a lovely pool area to sit around and enjoy breakfast in the sunshine. The whole villa was very spacious, on two floors though we only used the ground floor. It was very well equipped if you wanted to cook meals. Maria was very welcoming and left us a few provisions (and wine) for our arrival which was great as we arrived late evening. It was an easy drive into Caroviero where there were lots of restaurants and plenty of supermarkets in nearby Lagoa. Lots of great walks and scenery and loved the seven hanging valleys trail.

− We came on holiday late February, and although the days were warm, the evenings were cold. The villa was very cold although there was a wood burner in the lounge and a heater in the main bedroom. The wood burner took a while to get going and didn't really warm the house. We could have done with extra heaters as there was no central heating. It was not too much of a problem as we ate out every night (would have been a bit cold to stay in). However if you are coming in summer, it would be lovely and cool. The local restaurant was closed in the evening so we had to drive everywhere but not a problem as only a few minutes drive into Carvoiero where there are plenty of restaurants

Great location, very well equipped kitchen, spacious and clean property. Air con which was very good was another €50 when we got there - well worth it because it was hot during our stay in August

− The electrics tripped quite a few times so we tried avoiding using the washing machine and dishwasher at the same time which seemed to be the issue

On the whole we enjoyed our holiday. It would have been better with a few home comforts an

Too far from main town. Car required.

− The villa is very basic with very uncomfortable hard double beds. None of the mattresses fitted the bed frames properly. Large nails were protruding from the bed frame that our 4 year old grandson slept in. We had to stuff blankets down the side of his mattress so he could sleep safely. It states toiletries are provided but hand soap was the only toiletry provided. We were advised the sheets and towels would be changed on Saturday, half way through our holiday, this did not happen so I sent an email on the Sunday, only then clean sheets and towels were left for me to change the beds. Theres no cleaning done and the pool was only cleaned 3 times during our stay. If you require the air conditioning on you are charged €50 per week. The furniture is very sparse and old, theres not even a chair in the bedroom, the appliances are also very old. There are no instructions on how to work the old rusty washing machine or dishwasher. The showers are only hand held and not attached to the walls. We arrived early at the villa and Maria let us in before our scheduled time. The day before we were due to leave I advised her our flight was is the evening so she said we could stay until 4.00pm but she would need to start the cleaning for the new guests, I thanked her and later sent an email informing her we would be leaving at 2.00pm. Maria and an other woman started the cleaning at 9.30am on the Saturday morning. We stayed in our room out of their way. We were just finishing off packing when at 11.30am we had an abrupt knock on our door with a very irate woman pointing at her watch telling us to go. I said Maria agreed to us staying on until 2.00pm but when I confronted Maria showing her the email she denied receiving it even though she originally agreed us staying on til 4.00pm. We were practically shoved out the door, not even a goog bye.
