Een zeer fijne bungalow voor 6 volwassenen

Deze bungalow is zeer ruim. Er zijn 2 grote badkamers, ieder met een toilet en nog een apart toilet. De keuken is zeer ruim en van alle apparatuur voorzien. Een redelijk groot privé-zwembad en een zeer zonnige tuin en dagterras. De ligging is prima maar een auto is wel aan te raden. Er kunnen 2 auto's op het eigen terrein geparkeerd worden. Carvoeiro-centrum is een kleine 20 minuten lopen. Grote supermarkten (Aldi en Inter Marchee) op ca 10 minuten rijden. Wij kregen en de weken voor onze vakantie verschilledne keren informatie via Whattsapp van de eigenaresse (Angela) en ook tijdens ons verblijf was Angela goed te bereiken voor vragen. Er is een wasmachine aanwezig zodat mogelijk vuile kleding of (strand)handdoeken eenvoudig gewassen kunnen worden.

− Geen tegenvallers (behalve misschien dat de stranden vol lagen met aangespoeld zeewier. Het is wel aan te raden een auto te hebben omdat de bungalow in een urbanisatie van (overigens prachtige) bungalows ligt. ACarvoeiro en de supermarkten moeten eigenlijk per auto bereikt worden. Er is wel sateliet TV maar geen Nederlandse zenders (met name Duitse zenders omdat de eigenaresse (Angela Duits is). Maar verder geen tegenvallers.

Casa Esperanca was amazing, much bigger than we thought, comfortable beds, great AC, big pool, multiple barbecue and eating areas, plenty of beds and seating and a roof terrace. You also get a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. You’re walking distance to restaurants, bars, caffes and hikes. Its a very quick drive or cheap taxi into Carvoeiro town centre and not to far to both Lagos and Albufeira.

We had a really great stay and it was a fantastic location.

The pool was excellent, really good size. The roof top was also lovely with some great views.

− The beds were not that comfortable and the pillows were poor. Also the showers were not great. We were quite surprised to have to pay an extra charge for air conditioning after paying a lot for the villa. There was also no mention of this extra charge in the advert for the villa.

Overall an excellent host and an excellent villa.

The villa was very spacious and set in a quiet residential area away from the busier tourist area of Carvoeiro town. There are several very good restaurants (Pashmina is absolutely outstanding) and two small supermarkets nearby as well as the beach (15 minute walk). Carvoeiro town is about a 30 minute walk though Ubers are cheap (€5). Potential guests should note that the area is very hilly so a hire car/Uber may be necessary. Nearby, the Seven Hanging Valleys hiking trail is accessible offering outstanding views on a moderately challenging route. For those wanting to do a 'big supermarket shop', there are three supermarkets including an Aldi on the outskirts of Lagoa about ten minutes away in a car/taxi. The swimming pool was much bigger and deeper than expected - the photos don't do it justice and it was a wonderful feature to have access to a private pool. In addition, there are ample utilities in the kitchen as well as many inflatables/kids toys/board games provided. In the evening, the roof terrace provided absolutely stunning views of the sea and local area and was a lovely space to eat dinner and relax. Communication with Angela, the host, and Ingrid, the cleaner, was excellent and prompt. A minor issue with one of the air conditioner units was handled quickly and as a goodwill gesture, Angela waived the air con fee for our stay. This was definitely appreciated.

− These are minor points that didn't in any way spoil our stay but if improvements were made it would definitely elevate the experience: - the welcome pack could be more detailed (it appeared some languages were catered to more than others)-it also was difficult to find! I would also recommend private messaging the safe key code to guests rather than printing it in the welcome pack as this undermines any sense of security. -the five keys could be labelled. Also informing guests to pull the front door to open it as it is unlocked would be helpful. We had a minor panic thinking we couldn't get into the villa on the first day! - the beds are very uncomfortable (something other guests have noted in the guestbook). -the shower water pressure in the ensuite was poor as was the drainage of water possibly from a blocked drain. -there was mould on the net curtains in the toilets/en suite bathroom.
