The perfect place for a week of relaxing!
10.0We stayed at this stunning villa as a group of seven, and it couldn’t have been better. There are four spacious bedrooms, each with a double bed and we all had plenty of room. The villa was spotless on arrival, and Kate kindly accommodated our early check-in since we arrived before 4 p.m. The kitchen and living area are well-equipped and ideal for spending time together indoors. The outdoor facilities are fantastic. We made the most of the beautiful pool, hot tub, pool table and table tennis. The outdoor dining area was perfect for evening meals by the traditional barbecue. Kate was an excellent host, providing us with helpful local advice and the contact details of a friendly driver who made getting around easy. While Uber and Bolt do operate in Gata, there are very few drivers - don't rely on using these. Since we were a group of seven, we chose not to hire a car, though it may be worth considering if you plan to explore more often or further out. For essentials, there are two small shops within walking distance, while larger supermarkets in Omis (about a 15-minute drive) have everything you could need. As the villa is quite high up, there's not a huge amount to do in the nearby area, but there are a few excellent restaurants within a 15 minute walk - and the villa feels quiet and private. One of the highlights of our stay was the private boat trip Kate arranged for us on a traditional boat. Our captain and guide were brilliant, and it was an unforgettable experience - truly excellent value and highly recommended. We also enjoyed feeding the villa tortoises in the mornings and the company of 2 friendly cats (the cats do not come inside the villa). The locals were all very friendly, helpful and many spoke excellent English - which was helpful as unfortunately our Croatian isn't the best! We would all highly recommend staying at Villa Beybe - thank you Kate for letting us stay, and for all of your help!
