A stunning location; a beautiful, roomy, modern villa, but more of a pond than a pool.
9.0Location is dramatic! The road up to Competa has more rights and lefts than a millipede. The location we were sent was incorrect and we had a little trouble finding in the dark. Take your time - head all the way to Competa and turn left at the first bar you see. That will get you close. The villa itself was spacious and modern. There were 4 of us and we all had plenty of room. The modern kitchen was great as well when we had to prepare breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Cutlery was a little sparse but we made it work. We had to buy bin bags for our last few days - daily emptying a must because of ants. Lots of towels for everyone, and some basic toiletries as well. Air conditioning was welcome at times. We stayed during a heatwave in July 2026. The pool was also good for cooling down. It was also good to have a TV equipped for streaming. We were able to sign in and use Apple TV & Netflix in the evenings.
− The pool. Day 2 we noticed a green algae staining on some of our inflatables and swimming costumes. I got in touch with Jose & Ernesto and the pool guy arrived the next day. No problem at all getting in touch with our hosts; they were very attentive and quick to respond. But … the pool pump was not turned on until our last day and the proper cleaning (chlorine tabs and shock) weren’t added until then either. Despite a quick clean when we called, the pool became more of a pond during our stay. It put us off swimming for a large part of the stay. Water & Electricity are precious resources in the area, and are to be used carefully. We did so, but the house tripped twice while we were there. We got things back on, but appliances etc. have to be prioritised. It was no problem.
Grundsätzlich schön, aber…
6.0Wunderschöne Lage, super Aussicht. Netter kleiner Pool, viel Ruhe, Größe des Hauses reicht völlig aus.
− Es könnte sauberer sein. Krümel im Besteckfach, eine Toilette war nicht fest. Der Whirlpool ging nicht. ( vielleicht waren wir auch zu blöd) Und zu allem Übel… (dafür kann keiner was) besuchten uns jeden Abend Hornissen, die echt unangenehm waren.
