A great holiday in a superb villa.
9.0This is a nice, spacious, fairly new villa. Nevenka is a helpful and pleasant owner, who will make sure that everything is OK for you. The location is quiet, in a (very) small town around 15 minutes drive from Zadar. A car is essential, as Debeljak offers just one small shop, with no restaurants or attractions - but the drive to Zadar is easy. The bedrooms are all spacious and comfortable, and there is air-conditioning throughout. The kitchen is well equipped, and there is a barbecue and outside seating. The small pool is nice to have, although it is unheated, so it is best in good weather. The tennis court surface is excellent- a nice, soft AstroTurf with few bad bounces. The court is not suitable for matchplay due to the low walls (extremely) adjacent to the court and the risk of hitting balls in the pool, but if you constrain your practice slightly it is a useful and enjoyable facility for players of any standard. We did not use the Sauna, or the children's play area, but these will be useful additions for some.
− There are a few minor things which could be improved. There is a soft-tip darts set outside, which is fun for a quiet moment, but the electronic aspect did not seem to be working. The table-tennis table is also outside, and should offer some great family entertainment, but unfortunately it has not withstood the weather, and much of the paint is blistering and peeling, rendering it virtually unusable. If it were replaced with a table designed to be used outdoors it would be great. Overall, however, this is an excellent holiday villa.
