Disappointing Experience with Unclear Policies
1.0− We were excited to stay at this villa but encountered several issues that negatively impacted our experience. First, there was a dog on the property, which was unsettling for our children and woke us up early with its howling. While the owner eventually resolved this, it took considerable effort on our part. Second, the cleanliness of the villa was below expectations. There was hair around the house, a strong smell of smoke, and a sewage smell in one of the bathrooms. The owner did send someone to clean, but these issues should have been addressed before our arrival. Additionally, we were surprised to be asked for a large deposit and charged for electricity usage, neither of which was clearly mentioned in the Booking.com listing. The owner insisted this was standard practice, but we hadn’t experienced this at other accommodations in Thailand. The lack of transparency made us feel uneasy. While the villa itself had potential, the unclear policies, cleanliness issues, and initial tone of communication from the owner made our stay more stressful than it should have been. I hope future guests are better informed about the property’s policies upfront. Positives: The villa’s layout and amenities were decent, but the owner was harrassing us and threatening to ruin our holiday
