7.0This is by far the most beautiful accommodation we have ever stayed in. The chalet has a stunning view and a picturesque Swiss style combined with modern equipment and comfort. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped, and the owner made sure we had coffee, tea, wine, and even the ingredients for a simple pasta dinner on the day of arrival. That was a very thoughtful and much-appreciated welcome. Frank, the owner, responded quickly to questions and was extremely helpful throughout our stay.
− This accommodation is best suited for guests who are very fit and like physical exercise. The chalet is located above the village and requires about a 25 minute steep walk to reach it. There is no regular transportation available, except for an electric taxi which costs about €50 for a 7-minute ride. We were fortunate that our children are older, and that there was enough snow to access the slopes through the forest, which allowed us to ski back and forth. During the last two days of our stay the snow started to melt, which meant we had to walk the final 10 minutes back to the chalet instead of skiing. But, going to the village for groceries or restaurants can be quite demanding. After a day of skiing, carrying supplies back up to the chalet meant a 15 minute walk down and a 30 minute walk up. On the positive side, we certainly came back feeling fitter than ever! Another downside is that the bedroom contains a connected double bunk bed that we found quite uncomfortable and squeaky. The rain shower is fantastic, but I would strongly recommend that the owner install a curtain for the large window connecting the bathroom to the bedroom. At the moment, turning on the light at night can easily wake others in the room.
Great place, recommending
10.0Amazing place, everything was tip top, fancy, clean with character and really great kotchen
− The elevation, distance was challenging but we enjoyed it, I would replace the matrases
Very far from the village, outright unsafe access, failure of basic utilities such as hot water and “gaslighting” by own
1.0We stayed here as a family (including a child) and would not book again. It was our fourth year in Saas-Fee and we’ve always had good experiences there until this year. In fact, if anything was available at the time on short notice (we were there during new years) - I would have paid double in order NOT to stay there. Getting there / finding it was a problem: On arrival there were no taxis available, and in the dark—carrying luggage (and ski gear)—we couldn’t find the property as it on the outskirts and very high uphill. We ended up calling several times and exchanging photos just to locate it. That’s a bad start, but it got a lot worse. The access path to the property is outright dangerous in winter: The approach to the apartment was basically a vertical sheet ice, part of it a very steep incline followed by a path which was also covered in ice. This was genuinely hazardous—especially if you have a child, heavy bags, or ski equipment (we ticked all those boxes). A winter rental needs safe access. I ended up carrying 40 kilograms of luggage up the slope and falling several times before finally arriving to the appartement. I had hiking boots on. Our bag was totally destroyed as were we arrived. Also our child fell several times during the week that we stayed there. No hot water (and gaslighting by owners when reported): We didn’t have hot water for two days on December 31st and January 1st, and couldn’t even wash our kid for new years celebration. Initially, the owners brushed us off saying they had not received any complaints from the other apartments. As if we don’t know what cold water feels like. The “explanation” we got was basically that there is one boiler shared across three apartments and in “rare cases” you may simply be without hot water until later in the day.
− The TV was nice
