Nice base to explore Cornwall

A pleasant stay in a wonderful setting.
8.0We loved the setting and it was a great base for exploring north Cornwall. There were some good facilities which we could have utilised if we’d been staying longer - the games room and pitch and putt golf. The owner was very charming and helpful.
− The bathroom door lock was defective and the shaving light didn’t work. The bedrooms were a bit cramped and there weren’t enough surfaces or provision for towels in the bathroom.
Really good overall with a few areas to improve on
7.0The views were lovely and atmosphere welcoming and quiet. Everything in the lodge worked well, including the WiFi and hot water, which was great. The animal feeding experience was great for the kids and us adults. The Games room was well equipped with a pool table and table tennis. The lodge was comfortable, warm and felt like home after not too long.
− This is more of an observation and not a list of complaints - I mention this for safety and it will likely take the team little time to sort out. The pool cues need tips as they're missing. My eldest son sliced his finger on the pool cue within minutes of playing. The playground could do with a mini revamp also. Exposed screws in the play house and missing steps on the big climbing frame/slide area. This is probably a result of kids wrecking the equipment and walking away. I appreciate the team do a lot here tending to guests and animals and these oversights can get missed with everything thats going on. Otherwise this was a beautiful place to stay in and I left feeling refreshed. We would visit again. Lastly a more modern/comfortable sofa would have made the lodge perfect.

Great place to stay in cornwall especially if you want something different to the busy tourist locations
9.0Fantastic location. Quiet scenic. Teenager kids loved feeding animals. Hot tub and games room were great. Host is amazing - responds to messages in minutes and very helpful.
− Accommodation might benefit from some minor modernisation but it’s purely cosmetic
