Quiet and Quaint Stay Close to Massanutten Attractions and Shenandoah National Park

The house is as pictured online. We would rate this as a 7.5 stay overall. While you can see your neighbors, the property is surrounded by trees. The privacy is wonderful. The sleeping areas work well for a family. There is a master bedroom and bath off the kitchen. A room with a queen-sized bed and a room with two beds (which seemed smaller than twin-sized, but it has been a long time since I've used a twin-sized bed are down the hall near the dining room, with a shared bathroom. There is a loft area upstairs, which children will love. There is a bedroom up there with two twin-sized beds (again, they may technically be narrower than a traditional twin) and a half-bath. The loft bedroom has a window A/C unit in the bedroom. Unless one or more of the couches is a pull-out, I'm not sure 12 adults can stay here comfortably. The bedding was nice and clean, with plenty of throw blankets, extra pillows, towels, and washclothes. There is a washer and dryer, and a dishwasher for use. The sunroom is lovely and relaxing. The sliding glass doors in all of the downstairs bedrooms were wonderful and allowed easy access to decks (unfortunately, all the decks need maintenance). There is an outdoor table and grill for use (we did not use the grill). There are kitchen essentials, cutlery, dishes, and pots and pans for your use. We only saw one creepy crawler indoors, which is to be expected in the wooded area where the home is located.

− We did not receive the door code before our arrival. I contacted the property owner via text when we were about 2 hours away (@ 5 pm). Once I did, I received the code after 2 hours (@ 7 pm). Check-in is listed as 4 pm. The code should be sent by 4 p.m. The living room couches have seen better days. One was really hard, and the loft area's futon was uncomfortable. We could not use any of the board games, as all had missing pieces. Not a big deal, but attention to detail is something I'm big on, especially given the price point of the property. There were video game controllers, but we're not gamers, so I'm not sure if everything you would need to play was available. The master bedroom fireplace did not work. I notified the property owner of a crack in the master bath. The deck and exterior need to be better maintained, such as painting and removing spiderwebs (the spiders were HUGE), which should be done routinely, given that guests pay an extra $165 for cleaning. The porch stairs' railing needs to be better secured, as it was wobbly. The property has rules and regulations that are not listed on the booking website. There is an orange laminated paper on the refrigerator. All of those rules and regulations should be online for review. In particular, there is a $75 fine if you do not take out all of the trash when you check out. However, there are no outdoor trash cans to dispose of trash; you must travel about 10 minutes into the neighborhood to a community dumpster to dispose of it. I understand there are bears in the area, but neighboring properties had outdoor trash cans with locks. The property lists the use of the community pool. However, the pool pass is from 2024. When I contacted the property owner, they said to just try the pass because no one really checks (???) The property owners need to ensure the pass is for the current year if that is a listed feature.

The house was big and beautiful and It was close to all of the parks, activities.

− The only think that I didn’t like was the the living room smell really bad and we found that the carpet in the living room was dirty and smell really bad

This house is beautiful. My kids absolutely loved it. They really enjoyed the game room. We didn't get a chance to enjoy the deck ( the weekend goes by fast) but it is absolutely gorgeous 😍. The house is minutes away from the Mansunetten attractions ( which was also enjoyable) My kids wore me and my fiance out but they had a great time and that's why we came. We also had a great time too.

− The only thing I didn't like and this wasn't the house, just the area is it gets so dark. It's winding roads and hard to see at night. Also be careful of the deer because they came up to the house then walked away.

Liked that there was a code for easy access, plenty of rooms for sleeping downstairs for handicapped mother, nominal stairs, kids loved the upstairs, plenty of bathrooms for larger groups.

− The futon upstairs was broken so we couldn't use that and there was no propane for the grill; however, not showstoppers and we made adjustments.

− Place look moldy, Dishes and pots were very old. I don’t feel like to use them.
