Disappointed and didn’t meet expectations

1.0

The location

We were disappointed with our stay, as the lodge did not meet our expectations. The kitchen facilities were poor. The markings on the oven had completely worn off, making it impossible to know what temperature or setting you were using, which made cooking very difficult. There was also no soap provided, despite the listing stating that towels were included. Only one towel per person was supplied, which was not sufficient, especially given that the lodge has a hot tub. The cleanliness and maintenance were also below standard. There were stains all over the carpet, the curtains were filthy, and several lights did not work, including the light above the shower. Although a torch was provided, it had no working batteries, so it was unusable. There was a TV, but neither of the remote controls had batteries, making it inconvenient to use. We also found a dead fly in one of the drawers. The lodge is advertised as dog-friendly, but there was no gate or enclosed area to keep dogs safely secured around the lodge, which was disappointing. Overall, we felt the property was poorly maintained and lacked the basic attention to detail that would have made our stay comfortable.

Good value for money, most importantly it was clean and functional but not plush, hence the price.

Hot tub was lovely. Very quiet and peaceful. We stayed in Snowdrop 9 as 10 was still having the decking replaced.

Sofas weren’t comfy (one had the legs removed, so was very low) and the bed was very soft which isn’t to my personal liking. After a day out in the area would have been nice to have space to sit out but the decking is just a walkway to the hot tub really.

Quiet, cozy, clean, well equipped. Hot tub ready at the right temperature. Easy check in.

Only uncomfortable plastic chairs to sit outside.

Shabby and dull with very basic facilities. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Best thing about it was location. Very quiet in wooded area within a 10 min drive to shops/village and local beaches.

Upon arrival it looked very shabby compared to the other lodges. Covered in cobwebs all along the front and unkept. The “private hot tub” was not so private because you had to walk down the steps and across the front of the lodge for all the neighbours to see. The handrail was very loose at the top of the steps to get into the property as I discovered when I grabbed it to stabilise myself taking in a suitcase and nearly fell backwards. Inside was very dark even with all the lights on you couldn’t see very well at all which made getting ready difficult. Very basic facilities. In the kitchen there were mismatched plates and cups etc and some were dirty so I had to wash everything before we used it. The oven was hard to work as all the writing was rubbed off. The fridge also made noises like a dying cow. They provided 2 towels for a family of 3 for 3 nights and no washing machine. 1 toilet roll and no hand soap in the kitchen or bathroom. The shower was an absolute joke! It didn’t drain and flooded all the floor and around the back of the toilet. No shelves or anywhere to put your toiletries. The bathroom radiator was also stuck on when it was 32 degree weather outside. The windows were dirty and window frames were full of cobwebs and dead flies and the one in the main bedroom didn’t feel secure. The front door didn’t align by a good 2cm at the bottom. The fake plant in the living area was covered in dust and there were stains on the bedroom carpets. The hot tub area was very dull with a horrible dirty fake grass floor and shabby paint and cheap plastic chairs that were also filthy. For the money we paid we’re all very disappointed and tried not to spend much time in there. We stayed in a cabin in Scotland at Easter for the same price with a hot tub and it was outstanding compared to this. It is quite clear that they just want to make money and not really give much care and attention to detail or comfort.

Cosy and good for a weekend but wouldn’t stay for longer

7.0

Was very cosy and good size for a small family

Anyone that would need the flashlight provided would struggle as it was rechargeable but had no charge and no cable was provided. The window frames were coming apart, the shower knob to turn the temperature down was broken before arrival so could not turn the shower down in temp only up. Didn’t like how the hot tub was away from the decking so was exposed to anyone going past getting in or out.
