Pretty run down with youth hostel atmosphere

4.0

The location ist good and it is one of the few reasonably priced options in Castejon de Sos, which is otherwise a somwhat more expensive location.

Well, for an economy option and hostel one cannot expect too much and all I need is a clean room and a good night sleep. Unfortunately this hostel is quite run down, stuff is broken or near EOL. The beds are planks with thin and old foam mattresses, my 600g ultralight camping sleeping pad almost beats them in comfort. Worst is the old wooden floor, pretty dirty and it echoes every step through the remaining rooms, thus If you can sleep depends on the habits of the other guests and if the rooms are even half booked it becomes unlikely you can sleep without earplugs. I also wondered about the relatively good 8.4 evaluation and checked - well, there is a suspicious row of 10 ratings in a short amount of time - you make the guess how that comes. I definitely recommend the owners to rather Invest time into renovating this accomodation, as It would help improving the quality instead widening the gap between expectation and reality.

Located in a nice mountain town, in the Pyrenees. There were not many places available in this area, so this was a great option. Clean, affordable, quiet, other guests were friendly. Convenient that there's a restaurant on site (open for dinner but not for breakfast when we were there.)

Parking is along the main street and may be a bit of a walk. We couldn't find the check- in- hint, it's at the restaurant. Another tip- helpful if you speak Spanish or Catalyn.
