A fabulous 'off the beaten path' resort experience

The gracious managers, Ronnie and Katerina, were absolutely outstanding in providing for and anticipating the needs of their guests and went above and beyond all of my expectations. They have assembled an incredible team to greet, guide, and nurture their guests. The variety and quality of the food was exceptional! Even though I am an experienced diver (>6000 dives world wide), my dive guide, Fajal, was incredible at spotting those tiny little things that I would have missed. The crew of the dive boat was awesome. I like my diving equipment set up in a particular manner, and after showing them how I do it once, it was set up perfectly every dive. All of the resort staff were attentive, friendly, and quick to learn my personal favorite foods and beverages. From my arrival at the transfer site to the resort to the departure site from the resort, I was personally accompanied by knowledgable English-speaking staff. I always felt safe and secure when in the hands of this exceptional team. I rate the quality of the various reef experiences as average to good, depending on the site. The sea mounts were the best, the jetty experience (a whole day excursion) was fabulous for creatures I'd never seen before, and even the house reef was good.

− The reefs had experienced quite a bit of typhoon damage, so the corals and sponges were replaced by a lot of rubble. This wasn't so much of a detriment to seeing unusual creatures, though, but more of an aesthetic lack of the beauty of a reef in full bloom. There has been many years of fishing in the area, so the pelagics were relatively scarce, and the turtles and octopods tended to be very shy, but the smaller fishes, mollusks, and nudibranchs were in abundance. Unfortunately, getting to the resort requires careful planning, patience and fortitude as it is very far off of the beaten path. The flight to and from the nearest island is scheduled for only once a week, and that schedule isn't guaranteed as I was to learn on my departure to my dismay. Even though my travel agent, other guests' agents, and Ronnie himself had checked on the flight and was assured that it was to be on time, it wasn't. Even the Lion Air airline personnel weren't informed! They checked in my suitcase before the anticipated departure! However, Ronnie and Katerina provided an alternate (though prolonged- seven hours by boat, car, and boat) route which got me to my departure city with plenty of time. Though this is a long day of travel, at least it is a sure thing, and when I return, this is the departure route for which I will take.

Great new resort with excellent service

Delicious food and super friendly staff. The resort is fantastic and the cottages huge. We've been diving also and there are not yet so many divesites known but it was fun exploring new places with the guides. I have my own divesite there now! We had a really good time. Thanks guys!

− The garden is not yet as nice as it could be cause a lot has just recently been planted. When all is grown I'm sure it will be good. Staff needs better english knowledge.
