A surprisingly busy slice of paradise, even in the wet season.
8.0We stayed at RIU Palace Maldives in an Overwater Suite with Private Pool on the All Inclusive Plus package, along with complimentary domestic flights offered through Booking.com. One thing we hadn’t realised before arriving was that each overwater bungalow is divided into three separate suites, with the private pool suite in the centre and another suite on either side. We had imagined the bungalow would be one standalone accommodation, which would have made the experience feel more intimate and private. We travelled during the wet season but were incredibly fortunate with the weather and didn’t encounter any rain. Despite expecting a quieter time of year, the resort was fully booked. The food was very good, especially considering the buffet caters to the large number of guests across both RIU Palace and RIU Atoll. We were fortunate to secure some of the few remaining reservations at the speciality restaurants, which offered a more premium dining experience and were definitely worth booking. There were plenty of water activities and excursions available through Scuba Caribe. Our only disappointment was that swimming with nurse sharks wasn’t offered, as this was something we had particularly hoped to experience in the Maldives. These are simply small observations that we hope may be helpful to others planning their stay and certainly didn’t outweigh what was a wonderful experience. The staff throughout the resort were consistently warm, friendly and incredibly accommodating, and their genuine hospitality made all the difference in ensuring our stay was such a memorable and enjoyable one.

10.0The room facing the beach is amazing, we really enjoyed waking up and walking right into the amazing beach the property has. The staff were super attentive and friendly. Our rooms were super clean always thanks to Vakshir.
− we believe the buffet can be improved as the food is a bit repetitive if you have long stays. Also, for the speciality restaurants you can only book once during your stay and that was a bit disappointing.
