Very good... Homestay

My stay was absolutely horrible. I will not recommend anyone to stay at Phoenix Holiday Home.

Breakfast was the below average. simple sambar and chutney with idli and utapam on the 1st day, and utapam and pongal 2nd day. with spiced tea, which was promised to be served by 7.30 am but was only brought after asking at 8+am. The cutlery available was only plates and cups, and a pot. No spoon, fork, knife, etc.—we had to request for it. The location was about 15 20 min walk to Kanyakumari town.

− First of all, the room was not ready when we arrived. When we went into the room cum homestay, it was not at all like in the pictures. the place was upstairs, lookes shabby and old, dust everywhere, except the new bedsheets (we saw them changing). The bathroom has not been cleaned properly over the years and is eerie to touch. There is no help for any train ticket booking, the caretaker even asked for tips when we were rushing to the train station. I will not book this place again, and neither would i recommend anyone to stay here. its just a gimmick to make money for the owners.

After seeing the room and its surroundings, I was very disappointed. It disturbed my peace of mind, and I was unable to enjoy my stay in Kanyakumari as I had planned.

− I checked the property description before booking. They mentioned that they provide a hot tub, garden view, city view, free toiletries, bathtub, cleaning products, desk, sitting area, suit press, mosquito net, coffee machine, tea maker, kitchenware, electric kettle, dining area, clothes rack, fold-up bed, drying rack, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, air purifier, and many other amenities. However, in reality, none of these were available. 1. Bedroom & Bathroom Condition: It is only one small bedroom with one attached bathroom, and the bathroom is in very poor condition. The flush is not working properly. The water heater has only a 3-litre capacity, so to get one bucket of hot water, you must wait 5–6 times to fill it. Although they mentioned a hot tub, there is no tub at all — only one dirty bucket. 2. Common Area: The so-called common area is occupied by a double bed and converted into another bedroom. There is an old, dirty two-seater sofa without any table, which is practically useless. 3. Television: The TV is not working properly. It frequently stops, and only a few regional channels are available. 4. Kitchen Condition: The kitchen is in very poor condition. There is only one gas stove, four small glasses, one pot, and 2–3 plates, all in bad condition, very old, and not properly cleaned. 5. Water Purifier: The water purifier is not properly cleaned. There are small black spots visible in the water tank. I am not sure whether it was actually purifying the water, so I did not use it. 6. Basic Amenities: There is no tea or coffee maker and no basic amenities such as sugar, tea/coffee powder, or an electric kettle. If you want to make tea, you must purchase everything yourself. Even for cleaning the utensils, you must buy your own scrubber and cleaner. 7. Mosquito Issue: There is no mosquito net, and many mosquitoes are roaming around. There was no mosquito repellent provided. Overall, nothing was provided as mentioned in the online description.
