Peaceful countryside Sheppard's Hut with hot tub

9.0

Lovely location, was so peaceful, with no noise other than the nature around you. The Sheppard's Hut was a great size, was tastefully decorated, and contained lots of amenities. The bed was very cosy, and comfortable. Bathroom and shower were great. The hot tub worked great, though needs time to warm up. We had a visit from the goats, who were friendly and happy to munch away at the grass outside. Over a few days we saw hares, deer & a buzzard, so lots of nature around. It was a nice touch to have a bottle of Prosecco & some Fudge to greet us. It was all very private, and self checked in with no problems. Would definitely recommend this place for a relaxing stay.

We were there when the weather was hot, which meant it did get a bit warm. We wanted to open windows to keep cool, but being in nature there are a lot of flies, so it was a battle between being warm or flies coming in. There was a fly net on the door, which was really useful & there was a really good quality fan, so those really helped. Could have maybe had some more spare towels due to using for both shower & hot tub, but you do have robes. No major complaints though.

Lovely relaxing getaway for the most part. Would definitely consider going back

Loved the location, such a lovely view, really nice comfortable interior and setup. The bed was super cozy. Was relatively clean

There was abit of an issue with flies that got quite annoying at points as they found their way in within seconds if you opened a winder wider than night latch, given the location with it being next to a farm I don’t think there’s much the host could do about it expect maybe provide other ways to get rid of the flies like a hand held fly zapper or maybe take your own.

And breath…

10.0

Do you ever need to get away, switch off and just take a breath? This is the place for that! Quiet, peaceful, romantic, calming and more. The hot tub was brilliant. The bed was comfy. Top tip- when you heat the hot tub up on the 2nd day don’t leave the lid on too long it gets too hot! We were pretty tired anyway I think we went into ultra relax mode. If you have little deck chairs to take, take them so you can sunbath on the grass if you’re there in the nice weather, later in the day the sun goes round the back. There is a booths, Morrisons etc not far away for a shop. I’d highly recommend!

The only thing I’d say is that there didn’t seem to be chlorine tablets in the hot tub but not sure if they can be used in a wood fire? After having sun lotion on and being in and out all day the water does get a bit dirty I guesses but this is by no means a complaint.

Great place to stay

Great location, no light pollution, surrounded by nature and mountains. Pubs, bars and restaurants not to far from this place , so much to do around. Its a very nice and quiet place away from the noise of cars and busy life I would really recommend staying here
