10.0Lao Spirit Resort is located in a tranquil setting, and you begin to get a sense for the beauty of the land and the people, away from the hustle and bustle of the town (but close enough to visit). The staff are wonderful and professional, and the room is basic but clean and comfortable with a good view of the river and jungle. The food in the restaurant was delicious, they even made some of the meals vegan. There is a lovely (actual) elephant conservation place a few minutes down the river called Mandalao, really worth a visit (and you can hear the elephants trumpeting in the mornings). Totally worth staying here.
The resort was extremely peaceful. Perfect for relaxing and unwinding.

9.0Lao Spirit Resort is a special place to stay on the river. It is peaceful and tranquil and the food is delicious. We did a kayaking trip with a staff member which was a highlight.
