Fabulous B&B. Jane and Jonathan were very welcoming as well. The house and all the amenities were incredible. Parking on site and a pub right down the road. Will absolutely be back. Thank you!!

The property and gardens were beautifully kept. The room was well presented with sash windows that opened making the room airy in the heat of this summer. The couple that run the place were very welcoming and friendly making it a real pleasure to be there.

Generous breakfast of fresh fruit, yogurt and various cereals. Everything was good quality. The dining room was very pleasant with a view of the garden.

Jane and Jonathan met us as we parked. They were both friendly and clearly enjoyed having guests at their interesting home. We were offered the choice of 2 rooms and were delighted with our choice - we had bedroom, sitting room and bathroom to ourselves. The room looked out over the lovely garden and the sea was visible in the distance. Newton Beach was only a short walk away. Owing to the heat, we were provided with 2 electric fans in the rooms. The bed was large and comfortable and all rooms were comfortably furnished. Quality tea and coffee facilities were provided along with the thoughtful touch of homemade cake on arrival. A bonus was welcoming Prosecco in the fridge. We were able to use the lovely garden when we wished. Continental style breakfast was included with a selection of fresh fruit and cereals; selection of cold meats and cheeses; warm croissants and homemade jam and marmalade. A choice of cooked egg was also available. Good coffee also. Visitors should be aware there are limited choices for eating if arriving on a Sunday, but otherwise good pub grub and beer is availabe at The Jolly Sailor in Newton and acceptable 'chain-pub' grub at the Rose & Crown in Nottage. We were made to feel very welcome and would certainly recommend Newton Cottage.

− Porthcawl itself is unimpressive and visitors must be prepared to use the area as a base for visiting attractions along the coast or inland.

The gardens, the location, the spacious accommodation, the breakfast, the lovely touches (eg quality bath sheets and toiletries) and the warm welcome. Fantastic.

− Nothing, it was wonderful - though the top rooms did have restricted headroom in places which some guests may find a bit tricky.

Jonathan & Jane were lovely hosts and people nothing was to much trouble. Great stay.

Lovely house and Garden, which we sat out on a lovely day and had a few drinks. Room was clean and spacious.
