It was convenient to Beacon Street. It was really expensive for the bare-bones comfort and service.

5.0

There was a window with broken hardware that left a gap through which the extreme Boston cold came in. The employee allowed us to stay in the next room over for one night. A VERY helpful maintenance person fixed the window with hardware are weather stripping. He was very helpful and personable. It was very close to Beacon Street.

*It turns out that, as the building was old, all the windows were not very well sealed, and even with the window we complained about being fixed, a good amount of cold air came in the rest of the windows. *We had lots of trouble making the dead bolt work. The employee's over-the-phone instructions didn't work because we had an old lock that she didn't take into account. We eventually got that sorted out and were able to make the door both open and lock. *We had a chair that was really a fold-out cot that didn't have the cushion on it that it should have had. Therefore, to sit on it was to sit in a hole with a hard, wooden rim. We called about it, and some effort was made to give us a different chair, but in 15 days, we didn't get a different chair. For two of us, there was one usable chair. On our own initiative, we swapped out our very inadequate, uncomfortable chair for the chair in the common sitting area. *The room was tiny. *The wardrobe was tiny. *It was very hard to figure out how to work the TV. *The price was about equal to the Mariott that was very near, but unlike the Mariott, the room was cramped, it was drafty, there was almost no place to put our clothes, there was only one useful chair, there was no exercise room, there was no breakfast, they wanted to charge us $20-25 dollars for towel service (to get a new soap or shampoo or clean towels for a15-day stay).
