Magical place near SaPa
10.0Our stay at Gia Homestay was one of the most special experiences of our trip to Vietnam. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. Gia and her family are incredibly warm, kind, and welcoming, and they made our stay truly unforgettable. We stayed in a beautiful, cozy bungalow with breathtaking views over the valley. Every morning we woke up surrounded by endless rice terraces, water buffaloes grazing nearby, and the peaceful atmosphere of village life. The homestay is far away from the tourist crowds, making it the perfect place to experience authentic local culture and nature. We loved seeing the ducks and tiny ducklings around the property—it made the whole place feel even more charming and special. We had breakfast and dinner there as well, Whig was so delicious! There is also a small restaurant/cafe close by for afternoon coffee with amazing views! The children were incredibly friendly, polite, and sweet, and spending time with the family was one of the highlights of our stay! We rented a scooter in Sapa and drove to the homestay ourselves, which took about 30 minutes. The road can be a bit challenging in some places, so we would recommend being a confident and experienced scooter rider if you plan to make the trip this way. The journey is absolutely worth it, though the scenery along the way is stunning. When it was time to leave, we were genuinely sad to say goodbye. Gia Homestay is a truly magical place, and we already know that we want to come back. Thank you for your kindness, hospitality, and for making us feel so welcome. We will never forget our time here.

Mama Gia and family speak great English. Very accommodating is an understatement.
10.0You have to be very young and a body that’s in good shape. Perfect place to go trekking both through the rice fields and into the village with Mamma Gia or a family member leading away. I am a 67-year-old man with a few physical problems, so I wasn’t up for the trekking. They still took very good care of me, fed me dinner and deliver breakfast down to my room which overlooked the village. Absolutely peaceful at night. I would not recommend riding a motorcycle to the facilities unless you are advanced. The road is a bit difficult in quite a few places. I was lucky on ride in, and they actually someone take both me and my motorcycle back to the main road. They will come and pick you up in Sapa, luggage and all. They’ll even take you on a trek from town to the Homestay .
Authentic homestay experience
8.0Our requests were all met. The staff were lovely.
− We weren't hikers, and it was rainy season.

10.0My partner and I stayed in one of the bungalows for 3 nights and loved it! Mama Gia and the whole family are very friendly and welcoming. If you are looking for a peaceful place to relax and enjoy hiking in the Sapa area, then this is the place for you. I will definitely stay here again when I am next in the area. The hiking tour organised by the homestay was also excellent, definitely off the beaten track

9.0Like everyone mentioned, Mama Gia is an awesome lady, her son who came to pick me up as the place is at the top of a village about 35min drive from the centre. I had the best sleep in this bed, views were astonishing (when no fog) and the shared dinner was great (lots of specialty local food). I would love to come back, my stay was very short.
− They dont tell you how much everything costs (transport, food etc) until they give you the bill at the end. I prefer to have clarity beforehand.
