A Home in Sapa That Feels Like Family
10.0It’s difficult to put into words what this place made me feel. I would return without hesitation. I would relive this experience again—and I recommend it wholeheartedly. Sapa Orange Homestay is not just a place to stay—it is a natural sanctuary, a space that invites you to slow down, soften, and reconnect with silence, calm, and the quiet intelligence of nature. Nestled among mountains, rivers, and waterfalls, surrounded by trees and an organic garden, this homestay is a traditional family home in the mountains of northern Vietnam. It is run directly by its owners—an incredibly warm, generous, and attentive family who truly embody hospitality. I feel truly blessed to have found this place—it has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my entire journey. I had the opportunity to stay both in a standard room for two nights, and in a bungalow five more nights, with a spacious balcony overlooking the mountains. The view was simply breathtaking: a river and waterfall flowing right in front of me. The air felt pure, the silence profound. My nervous system genuinely rested here—it was able to regulate, to soften, to return to a more natural rhythm. But what makes this place truly unforgettable goes far beyond the landscape. There is something deeply healing about the experience itself. The mornings, with a cup of strong Vietnamese coffee, sitting in front of those vast misty mountains that reminded me so much of the Andes in Colombia, my homeland. The simple medicine of contemplating nature—its beauty, its presence, its stillness. The food—homemade, always abundant and sincerely delicious, is prepared with so much love. Everything is fresh, many ingredients coming directly from their own organic garden or from nearby homes in the community. The flavors are earthy, real, deeply nourishing. My favorite was the omelet—absolutely unique. Each evening, dinner becomes a shared moment. Guests gather with the family around t
− Personally, I loved EVERYTHING and it was perfect for me. I wouldn't change a thing. But if you're not looking for peace and quiet, this place might not be for you. Also, it's a bit far from the center of Sapa, but the owner kindly arranged to pick me up and take me back in his comfortable, clean car. For me, it was exactly what I was looking for. But if you need to be in or near town with all the services and amenities that entails, this place might not be for you.
