The owners were lovely, quiet road, there was a shared kitchen, and the pool was nice. It was close to Playa Ocotal (walking distance).

− It all depends on what you are looking for. I like privacy and isolation when I travel alone. Because this room is connected to the main house, I could hear every cough and conversation next door and neither the kitchen nor the pool were private at all. Maybe the description just needs a more detailed explanation. I felt like I was awkwardly renting a room in somebody's house, which was not how I wanted to end my Costa Rican vacation, after 3 and a half weeks of staying in much nicer places for less money.

I loved the combination of comfort and nature at Casa Avi Fauna.

My room at Casa Avi Fauna was very comfortable, spotlessly clean, and well-maintained: The windows and doors slide open and shut easily, the shower is large and beautifully tiled, the ceiling fan and a/c work perfectly, and the Wi-Fi is great. The grounds are well-maintained while still looking natural, and there are plenty of birds and monkeys enjoying them. The outdoor kitchen was a big plus for me as I enjoy cooking while enjoying natural surroundings, and there is a French press for coffee, tea, and water heater in the room as well. The pool is wonderful, especially after a morning walk around the neighborhood or on a hot afternoon. The hosts, and their pets, are very pleasant.

We loved this place. Host is friendly and welcoming. Lots of cats and dogs are living in this properly so this is the stay for anyone loving animals. Breakfast was excellent.

The house is in a very nice area, the outside garden feels like a forest. If you have a car, it's not a problem to get there although the road on the estate isn't in the best shape. There's a nice pool outside as well and a kitchen, too. The room was very comfortable.

− I think it should be stated pretty clearly in the advert that there's two big dogs in the property and one of them roams around. He's extremely friendly and sweet but just by being big he could be scary to some. It's a bit awkward to be staying next door to the owner of the house. Even though the owners claim it's soundproof, it only silences the sounds a bit - I was able to talk with my partner while on the other sides of the doors. That only applies to the master bedroom, though. The others are in separate small buildings so they're more private
