Franchement, sans hésitation, meilleur homestay du Vietnam (après 5 semaines d'expérience). Pour ceux qui veulent vivre une vraie expérience chez l'habitant allez-y sans hésitation. Trùc et sa famille étaient très accueillants et aux petits soins pendant toute le durée de notre séjour (mangue, bananes et bouteille d'eau à notre arrivée et à chaque fois qu'on rentrait, cadeaux de départ avec mangues, bananes, bouteilles d'eau, couteau, crème contre les piqûres moustiques, pinces pour les cheveux). On voit qu'il y a un réel plaisir de leur part d'accueillir des étrangers. Belle expérience de préparation de repas, c'est 8 usd/personne mais ca vaut vraiment le coup. C'est une belle expérience de partage. On aide la mère de Trùc à préparer notre repas dans la bonne ambiance, un vrai festin ! Trùc et sa soeur parle bien anglais. Elles donnent des conseils sur ce que l'on peut faire (le tour de l'ile vaut vraiment le coup). Si vous avez un scooter, elles ne proposent pas la visite du marché avec elle, mais plutot de le faire par vous-même. Concernant le marché flottant, nous avons pu constaté qu'il n'existait plus, mais la balade en bateaux était très agréable (possibilité de négocier le prix avec les bateliers à 200 000 dongs). La famille s'adapte à votre planning. Comme nous souhaitions visiter le marché, nous sommes parties le matin à 5h30, la mère nous a préparé un café/thé et au vu de l'heure, il a été convenu la veille, que nous pendrions le petit-déjeuner au marché et que nous reviendrons le midi pour manger le repas du midi chez Trùc. Enfin concernant la chambre : lit confortable, propre. Salle de bain et toilette partagé avec le reste de la famille, bref vrai experience de homestay. Certes le logement est un peu éloigné de Long Xyen, mais ayant un scooter, ça ne nous a pas posé de problème et Trùc s'arrange sinon pour venir vous chercher si vous n'en avez pas.

We had outstanding days with Trúc and her family and definitely one of our highlights in Vietnam. They were super kind, we laughed a lot and got an authentic insight in the life of the locals in the Mekong delta. The food of Trúcs mother was the best we have eaten in Vietnam and we even were invited to learn how to cook the dishes. Trúc took us on a trip to the floating market, we got to see various handcraft manufactures with incredible warm-hearted people and saw the amazing buddhist pagoda. The island is very green and packed with mango and jackfruit trees alongside the streets. We really tecommend to stay here for a few days with these great people and to experience the real life of the locals in the Mekong area- far away from the crowded and touristy spots. As you can see the floating market of Long Xuyen with Trúc (with no tourists at all!) you can skip the more crowded places like Can Tho and get to see the markets as well! Thank you very much for this amazing and unforgettable experience! Lisa & Felix
