I received a confirmed booking through Booking.com for accommodation at 278 Harbison. When I arrived, I was informed by the manager that the room was already occupied. I was then told by another staff member, Anna, that my booking was actually for 578 Harbison instead. I had originally been confirmed for 278 Harbison, not 578. I was advised to walk or take an Uber to the other location, which resulted in an unexpected additional expense for me. When I arrived at 278 Harbison, I encountered several issues with the property. The condition of the unit was poor and appeared unfinished, with drywall not properly mudded and the space in need of painting. There were multiple maintenance and safety concerns: * The toilet seat was very loose and unsafe * The couch arms were also loose and unstable * A window in the living room would not close properly, allowing cold air to enter * There was a cigarette butt left on the window sill * My bedroom door had no functioning lock or key * The damaged door allowed another guest’s key to open my room I offered to help fix the toilet seat myself and requested a screwdriver, but I did not receive a response. Because of the lack of heating and the condition of the room, I had to sleep in my clothes on the first night. In addition, I discovered a serious security concern: another guest staying nearby had a key that was able to open my room. This raised significant safety concerns regarding the security of the property. I was also informed by this individual that she was engaged in sex work. After I was later relocated to another area, I was told that she had since passed away due to a drug overdose. Overall, I found the property to be unsafe and not suitable for occupancy. I had very limited choice in where to stay, as I was in Winnipeg receiving treatment at a clinic for a brain-related cancer condition and had travelled a significant distance for medical care.

− I did not feel safe or comfortable staying at this property due to multiple serious issues that affected both my security and basic living conditions. There were significant safety concerns, including a situation where another guest had access to my room using a key, which indicated a serious failure in proper security controls. The condition of the accommodation itself was also unacceptable, with broken or poorly maintained fixtures, including a loose toilet seat, unstable furniture, and a window that would not close properly, leaving the room exposed to cold air and outside access issues. In addition, the room could not be properly secured, as there was no functioning key provided for my door. The overall condition of the property suggested it was not properly maintained or prepared for guests, and it created an environment that felt unsafe and unsuitable for occupancy. My door did not lock and I told them I would try yo fix it for them. We are asking for a refund.

− this listing does NOT state it is a multiple room unit! with multiple guests! found out upon arriving and was ignored my house owner when asking to figure out the situation.
