Quiety cosy stay in small studio near to the sea

Cosy, quiet little place excellently located near the sea front and the centre of the city. Bed was really comfortable and there was plenty of extra bedding, towels and wardrobe space for a few nights. There is a little noise from flats nearby but we slept very well. Host provided fans which was welcomed, although the bonus of it being a basement studio is that it kept quite cool during the heatwave! Nice to have a selection of cereals for breakfast and a good coffee machine. Kitchen looked pretty good for cooking although we didn't use it. Bathroom was very small but the shower pressure was good and bodywash, shampoo and conditoner was all provided. Studio also had a little cubby area with a dressing table and light and some cosmetics which was really useful. Garden is lovely to have and although we didn't use it as much as we wanted to, it was cute to watch a local fox enjoying a shady spot there during the mornings. Communication with host was really good leading up to the stay, and apart from the little hiccup with entering the studio, would absolutely stay again.

− Getting the key was a little stressful due to the outside floorhaving wet paint all the way to the door (maintenence and not the hosts fault) and the pin number being wrong in the welcome note. However, the host called and we straighted everything out. The place itself is perfect for a few nights but due to the nature of old buildings and being in the basement with poor ventilation, it did smell a little musty at times. The hosts have obviously done their best to improve ventilation and add nice smelling plug ins but this is the reality of staying in an old building (with character) :D! One thing I'd mention is more for accessibility - the bath is on a plinth which does make it quite difficult to get in and out of (particulary as the bathroom is also very small). Lastly, the only thing I would recommend to the host is to install some small movement lights outdoors for the steps and the pathway as it was impossible to navigate without my phone torch.

Kitchen was well equipped, small area for hair and make very well lit, had small table and chairs through patio doors and rattan sofa up steps, very quite location really close to beach

− The garden area untidy needs some tlc, if the weather wasn’t fantastic would feel really claustrophobic being stuck inside to sleep eat in one room. Needs a really good clean inside cupboards, oven was dirty and trays in it hadn’t been cleaned, carpet needs replacing or cleaning, Lights over bed very dusty and cobwebs about, only 2 bath towels left no hand towels. Overall just needs a good clean and a bit of tidying outside and would be lovely

Logement pratique et très bien équipé. Bonne communication avec l'hôte. L'extérieur est un vrai plus même si nous n'avons pas eu l'occasion d'en profiter.
