Ideal, comfortable base for exploring the Stamford area.
9.0Great location for us as we travelled by train. Easy walk from the station and good base to explore locally; the stroll through the Burghley Estate to see the gorgeous house and gardens was utterly delightful. We appreciated the well-equipped kitchen as were self-catering and it was good to have a spacious bedroom and bathroom (with decent shower over the bath). The hosts were proactive in checking if we wanted the sofa bed made up ready for us, and my son found it really comfy. Lovely history to the building included in the detailed welcome pack.
− As right on the corner of busy roads, the traffic noise was a bit of an issue during the current hot weather. With the double glazing closed, noise reduction was good so wouldn’t be an issue to any staying there at other times of the year.
We had a great stay at the Riverside apartments and will definitely recommend this to our friends.

The room was not habitable due to insects emerging from the wooden ceiling, and no refund was provided.
1.0The location was good
− We were unable to stay at this property due to a serious insect infestation issue. Upon arrival, we found dozens of insects around the windows, bed area, and throughout the room. Initially, we removed many of them ourselves, but new insects continued to appear in the same places, indicating an ongoing problem rather than an isolated incident. The insects appeared to be emerging from the deteriorated wooden ceiling structure, and we observed both live insects and larvae. As we were travelling with two children, staying in these conditions was simply not possible. We left the property and did not stay for a single night of our reservation. The host’s solution was limited to cleaning the room and offering a room change the following evening, which did not address the underlying issue. Unfortunately, despite not using the accommodation at all, no refund was provided. Our experience did not match the standard of accommodation we expected, and future guests should be aware of this issue before booking.
It was wonderful from start to finish.
