Modern, bright, oasis close to the city

The area was still rural, right on the edge of the city but with quick and easy access to both. The apartment was to the side at the back of the house, private and overlooking the garden, with large windows to give light, a lovely view and the breeze. It was compact so we were surprised how large and comfortable it was, really well laid out, everything you'd need for a long stay, super clean and modern, with a fabulous bathroom (no bath). The bed was large and comfortable and it was so quiet that we slept with windows open. Really nice to have a good settee as well, rather than having to sit on the bed to watch the tv.

− The parking is a public area slightly further along a very busy road. The kitchen had a toaster and basic (700w) microwave but not a hob or grill, which really limited what we could cook. We assumed it wasn't because of cooking smells as the family BBQ was just outside our window. The allocated small outdoor seating area was in the side passage of the house, which had bikes parked along it and was access from the front to the back garden.

Clean and comfortable. Ideally located for our needs. Clear instructions for self check-in and out.

− The main lights are a bit bright. Maybe fit a dimmer or lower wattage bulbs. The door is a bit of a challenge to lock - nothing that a bit of WD40 wouldn't fix. It was a bit warm, with no obvious way to reduce the temperature. The switch for the extract fan in the bathroom isn't obvious. Maybe place a sign beside the light switch? Finally, the shower needs a non-slip mat. One other thing, that's not your fault, and I'm not sure how you'd fix it, but Google Maps has your address located on the other side of the road. Luckily, Booking.Com has you located correctly.

The apartment was spacious, comfortable and had a large very modern bathroom. Our host Sarah was very helpful when we had a slight problem with the internet The location was a short walk to a bus stop and shops. It’s better to take public transport into the city centre because parking is scarce. We really enjoyed our stay.

− The only thing we had difficulty with was the door locks which we eventually figured out.

Spotlessly clean, smelled good, good facilities with a mini fridge and kitchen

− Only thing that let this place down was the cheap mattress - it was rather hard and uncomfortable. If this was replaced it would be a perfect place for anyone who needs a base whilst in Cambridge
