Exceptionally comfortable and welcoming apartment for one night or a full holiday.
9.0The hosts of this delightful little apartment have genuinely thought of everything. The bed was wonderfully comfortable, with beautiful linen. The living room and kitchen had all that we needed and more (I always long to find an apron, wherever I stay - and here in a drawer I discovered a lovely thick butcher's apron: heaven). Excellent coffee, eggs, milk left for us. It was clear in every detail that there was an unusual level of care, consideration and generosity in our hosts' attitude to paying guests - even down to the encouragement to walk through their extensive garden with wide mown paths and a panoramic view over the valley. Highly recommended.

10.0We found an absolute gem! Loved everything about Walkers Retreat. The accommodation was comfortable, clean and well equipped. So well thought out. Hosts were friendly and attentive. The location was peaceful, with stunning gardens and easy access to excellent walking routes. Pub only a 5 minute walk an added bonus.

9.0The apartment is in a very good location for exploring the eastern moors of Dartmoor National Park. The apartment is exactly as described in the booking information. It is located above the garage of the property owners and is attatched to their home. The bathroom is located downstairs, but there is a very small toilet right next to the bedroom. The apartment is well equipped for self-catering and the bed is very comfortable. It was spotlessly clean. There is a very nice garden setting with views over the village and valley that can be enjoyed in good weather.
− There are 4 narrow steps up to the entry of the apartment, which made it difficult for international travellers with large, heavy suitcases. Luggage racks for suitcases would also have helped.
Location is OK. Garden great. Accommodation a bit isappointing.

− Did not expect it to have a cramped entrance up steps & be above a garage! Nor to go down stairs to shower nor a toilet the size of a toilet in an airliner! All that's holding have been made clear beforehand. The price not justified.
Good to know
Please note that the private entrance to the Walkers Retreat is accessible via a few steps onto an iron balcony. Therefore it may not be suitable for guests with mobility impairment. The kitchen/ living area, bedroom and toilet are all on one level, the shower room is located downstairs.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation.
