A wonderful weekend retreat

9.0

A perfect weekend retreat - the hut was exceptionally equipped and the space was utilised well - it was bigger than we thought. There were some really lovely touches to make the stay comfortable and the instructions for using the hot tub were comprehensive. The owner - Amanda - came and greeted us, which was a lovely touch.

Nothing not to like! The location is by a train line but they didn't run overnight so no disturbed sleep.

I personally would not recommend.

To be truth there wasn’t anything to like. The owners did very kindly leave a bottle of Prosecco.

It was freezing cold despite the underfloor heating I was shown how to increase the temperature which I did but still didn’t warm up sufficiently to be comfortably warm. The description said an oven. It was a tiny top one how I was going to cook Christmas lunch was beyond me! The decking was slippery and my husband took a nasty fall. I slipped and jarred my back. The owner said it was treated every 7 days. It was in need of a paint job inside. The hot tub needed to be light and would take 3-4 hours to warm but that asks the question how the water temperature would be regulated??? I didnt in fairness didn’t see the owner’s email due to poor internet signal. We had come from south Wales and made the upsetting decision to go home on Christmas Eve.

Cosy and clean. Hot tub a bonus once it got hot enough and the perfect getaway. Host went above and beyond to make it perfect for a very special occasion and couldn’t be more grateful

Would recommend. A lovely getaway stay

8.0

We have just returned and really enjoyed our stay. It’s the first time we’ve ever stayed in something like this as a family. (Mum, dad, girl 7 and girl 11) We usually avoid all sleeping in the same room for fear of getting no sleep but really liked the look of this place and it was everything we wanted. We didn’t meet the hosts but felt comfortable knowing they were there if need be. Lovely complimentary breakfast items which we didn’t expect! Lovely touch! Main bed comfy, kids beds suitable for kids and they found the experience fun. We chose to stay as we were visiting paultons park and Highclere castle so was a nice stop of point to break up journeys. Hosts heated up hot tub for us but unfortunately was just too hot, especially for the kids so we left it be. We enjoyed roasting marshmallows on a fire outside. Cute little swing set for the kids. Just overall loved our stay! Thank you

I’d probably stay storage. There were places to hang up bits etc but due to not staying long we were just living out of the suitcase and every morning and night was a case of re jigging around the room as nowhere to put it but we managed so wouldn’t put me off.

Exceptional

10.0

The hosts were fantastic and welcoming. Easy to contact for help lighting the hot tub and with recommendations for things to do and places to eat. The shepherds hut was very cute and cosy. Had everything we could need for the weekend. Fully stocked tea and coffee and even had milk in the fridge for us.

The directions to find the hut once on the actual farm could have been a tiny bit clearer but once we knew where we were going it made total sense!

A lovely peaceful place to rest and relax

10.0

The hot tub was great and it was actually secluded and quiet. The hut was very comfortable, nice bedding, lots of cushions. The outdoor seating was good and it was great to cook outside and have a fire in the evenings.

Nothing!
