10.0Ruang Tekuni was an amazing apartment for the 30 days I was there. The young guys who looked after my room and myself were all very nice, efficient, helpful and respectful. The room was very clean, bed was more comfortable than my bed at home lol, it had a small kitchen, so I cooked my own meals a lot, a mid sized fridge (big enough), lots of cupboard and hanging space. It was serviced every day and linen changed every 2nd or 3rd day (more than I expected). The pool was clean and I used it nearly every day, usually by myself. I tipped them the day before I left, so they were exceptional without knowing they were getting anything. I really had a relaxing holiday, it was quiet (except for some building going on next door), I logged into my Netflix on the TV, so I could watch whatever I wanted, using the free WiFi (very good reception). The price for the whole 29 night under AUD1000, which was fantastic. It's not really close to anything but there are a few nice little restaurants close within walking distance and with a taxi app, I didn't have any problem getting around. Thank you very much to the lovely staff at Ruang Tekuni 🌸🙏
− There is really nothing within walking distance. Although, I did find a couple of mini marts to buy food. Only 1 small saucepan and 1 small frypan for cooking made it hard, so I bought a big saucepan.
Look closely at the listing photos! There’s mould in the walls!
1.0− My husband and I have been travelling for over 20 years. This was the worst experience we’ve ever had. The rooms are depressingly dark and smell musty. We found black mould in the kitchen drawers - where you’d store food. The shower head and toilet were filthy with mould and grime. Even the pool was mouldy. We became sick during our stay from mould exposure. Here’s what we didn’t notice until after we left: their own listing photos show mould blooming throughout the walls. What looks like “concrete aesthetic” is actually mould - inside, outside, almost every room pictured. All the walls have been painted over since the listing photos were taken with a depressing, flat, hospital grey, maybe to cover the mould? Once you see it, you can’t unsee it. Look for yourself. And be careful before you book! You browse the photos, fall in love with wha you see, book excitedly. You arrive. Reality hits. You want to leave, but there’s no refund policy. You’re stuck.
Misleading advertising, horrible management
1.0− The listing photos for this property are extremely misleading, they do not accurately reflect how the place looks, or what is available for use, and many other reviews have highlighted this. The beautiful library room in the photos? Not available for guest use. The rooms? Dark, depressing, and painted with flat, lifeless grey, not the beautiful concrete in the photos. The lighting in the photos? Warm, moody, expensive, in reality? Fluorescent, cold, inadequate. The trees have grown, blocking out the light, buildings have been constructed all around it, blocking out whatever light was left. The kitchens are barely stocked, and with flaking teflon pans, mouldy wooden spoons, rusted cutlery, cracked plates. What you see in the photos is not what you get. The photos must be YEARS old. And here’s what we didn’t notice until after we left. Look closely at the listing photos, what appears to be “concrete aesthetic on the walls, is actually riddled with mould. Inside, outside, almost every room. Once you see it you can’t unsee it. Look for yourself. You browse the photos, fall in love with what you see, book excitedly. You arrive, reality hits, you want to leave, but there’s no refund policy. And then there’s the management. They tried to charge us for electricity, which is noted in other reviews. When we told them that we’d gotten sick from staying there, from the mould, the first thing they asked was, do you have any proof? The proof is in their own listing photos. Look closely, the mould is right there.
Our room flooded thigh high with sewage contaminated water. This has happened here multiple times
1.0− The entire ground floor flooded to above thigh height in the middle of the night - with sewage contaminated water. We later discovered this has happened at this property multiple times in recent years. Words don’t really do it justice, but I’ve attached photos. Those speak for themselves. This was just the beginning of our nightmare stay. After our room flooded, they downgraded us to a cheaper room, and left us there even when higher room categories became available. They offered us 3 packets of Mi Goreng as compensation, and access to the library space from the listing photos that was advertised for guest use anyway. The room they moved us to smelled STRONGLY of mould, though the walls had been painted, so you couldn’t see it, and we got sick from mould exposure. We extended our stay 3 times, not because we wanted to, but because we were working on a time sensitive project, which we couldn’t finish because the brain fog, headaches and nausea from the mould exposure slowed our work to a crawl. We didn’t know what was happening until after we left, and looked more closely at the listing photos which revealed the hidden mould. Don’t make our mistake, look closely before you book. They don’t offer refunds
