Great Location great value for money I would stay here again!
7.0Very easy and clear instructions of how to get into the property. Sent through email and just before we checked in all was good. The place was a fair size good enough for a couple and it was clean. Everything you needed in the kitchen and tv in both the bedroom and main lounge. Shower and bath worked lovely and was clean. The hosts were very easy to communicate with. And great location for our needs. Very close to restaurants and walking distance to the beaches. We would stay again if we could get it for the same price we paid. It was very good value for money as we booked last minute.
− It was a touch smaller than the photos showed but that was alright. We couldn’t find the parking permit in the flat but we contacted the hosts and the next day they sorted it for us. It was a bit warm in the flat as it was during one of the heatwave weeks and only 1 AC tower but I’ve stayed in hotter places so it was bearable and we only stayed in the flat to sleep and get washed and ready to go out doing things in Barry day and evening.
not as expected from photos and description
3.0located in middle of Barry on high street - near restaurants, pubs - not near seafront
− Pictures are deceptive - apartment is old and worn and some things mouldy - many things could be replaced. The description is deceptive it is definitely NOT SPACIOUS

1.0− I stayed for only one night because I had a family emergency and needed to return to London earlier than planned. Before check-in, I was required to pay a £25 damage deposit. I left the property in good condition and caused absolutely no damage during my stay. Despite this, the host has refused to return my deposit and claims it is non-refundable. A damage deposit should only be withheld when there is actual damage to the property. If the host intends to charge guests an additional fee regardless of any damage, that cost should be included in the rental price from the start, rather than being presented as a refundable damage deposit. I find this practice extremely unfair and misleading. Keeping a guest’s damage deposit when no damage has occurred feels like daylight robbery. I would appreciate a full explanation and the return of my £25 deposit.
Great location, enjoyed the stay but wouldn’t recommend unless the price reflected the state of the room.
6.0The location was very good, very close to various different food outlets and a few different pubs. Also 5 mins walk to train station or bus stops to get to Barry Island. Location was also quiet
− I appreciate the building is quite old and the decor inside is nice but does very much need a new lick of paint all over and there was lots of scuff and chip marks to paintwork in every room. The bed and particularly the sofa bed/settee were not comfy if you spent any length of time on them. The settee especially needs replacing, it’s really not comfy to watch tv on and also had a cover over it which had been put on to cover up numerous stains underneath. One of the cushions also had a stain on. The cleaning also left a lot to be desired. The most obvious was a dried amount of toothpaste on the front of one of the bathroom cupboards, the skirting boards were thick with dust in places , there was dirty marks on the internal doors, dust webs hanging from the living room ceiling and mucky marks on the windowsills. Also a bit of mould on the coiling in the bedroom, It didn’t feel like it had a proper clean in a long time. The communal corridor is worse and doesn’t give a good first impression at all. I think this property looked great when it was first decorated and furnished but hasnt been maintained well at all. This is the first bad review I’ve wrote and I’ve been on a lot of short stays in the UK but I do think there’s no excuse for basic cleaning and maintenance.
