Beautiful location in the mountains with living with the locals
8.0Nestled in the picturesque high mountains of Taygetus, just above Sparta, lies this charming accommodation. The house exudes an old-world charm with its timeless decorations, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. Relaxing on the front porch shaded by lush vines, you can bask in the beauty of the outdoors, while the balcony offers a breathtaking view of the valley leading down to Sparta. As the evening descends, a tranquil hush envelops the surroundings, allowing nature to come alive right at your doorstep. During the vibrant summer season, the village buzzes with life, offering us the perfect opportunity to savor the local cuisine at the nearby restaurant. The location is ideal for leisurely walks and exploration, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the natural splendor of the area.
− Be prepared for an adventurous journey up and down the mountains. The road, while in good condition, features several serpentine curves along the cliffs, making it unsuitable for the faint hearted. Consider this, especially if you are planning daily trips up and down from the village. Some upgrades to the kitchen equipment is recommended as well, as not all of it seems to work or just need some maintenance, (e.g. coffee machine)

8.0The location is great if you are a mountain lover and the last 7km of the road is bound to have several curves. You will get rewarded with plenty of hiking paths, from short to longer ones. The village of Anavriti where this property is located is nice and the people are friendly. There are also 2 nice family restaurants (tavernas). Less than 10Km away is the city of Sparta and the Archaelogical site of Mistras if you feel like you need some more diversity of activities.
− The beds need some maintenance, some of them are noisy, but the host has planned for it, so this should not be a problem in the future.
