Great location for exploring the Picos de Europa
10.0We stayed at La Condessa (the ground floor apartment) for twelve days and enjoyed it. It's ideally located for exploring the Picos de Europa. There are two or three good hikes starting in the village, Potes is about a mile down the road, and you can reach other places like Fuente De or the San Glorio Pass easily by car. We were looking for butterflies and saw over 60 species. The flat was clean, well organised and had everything we needed. It was also cool, very welcome after being out in the sun. The owner was very helpful and friendly - with the translation app on her phone we could understand each other very well! Valmeo's a sleepy hamlet and the apartments are opposite an old orchard, all very peaceful.

9.0A charming posada in a tiny village that gives you an authentic Spanish experience. The host speaks little English so if you're Spanish is a bit rusty you'll need to fumble through. Parking is available nearby, drinking water is collected from a well and you'll be able to see and hear the local cows, but that's all part of the charm. The host was even kind enough to bake us a breakfast cake which was delicious.
