Loved all of it! We were only there for one night and it was raining so we didn't get to use all the facilities but they were amazing and we will definitely be returning!

Host was coming back to me … nearly three weeks & nothing

1.0

What a super location you have. I normally book cheap & cheerful & hope, but this time pushed the boat out as never stay in a Shepards hut before. The place is super & as you say basic items ( did struggle to get eggs out of frying pan with spoon a slice thing would have helped !) not to worry, no big deal ..

I sat on bed…( I’m not a chunky-monkey nor have a large botty) , but my little bottom sank to the wooden boards of bed, window side is still firm. I expect guests sit on the side as not room for comfy chair. All is not too bad until getting into bed, I must turn a lot & every time awoke with hips flat on boards, I am feeling this would have been notice when the bed is re made, the mattress has long gone past it’s best in my opinion Adding to this the boiler starts a short exercise every hour during the night of seeming to start up & run system, although heating off. Woke in night chilly, out of bed to find socks & hoodie…warm again…I notice when stripping bed as requested, the duvet looks as it’s about ready to be up-cycled as dogs bed. Really don’t want to appear rude, but possibly fine for summer, but not warm for autumn nights when temperatures drop, looks as repeated washing has killed it a while ago.I am so very disappointed as the decorative taste, location is spot on, the place is totally delightful.,but sadly very let down regarding how much sleep I had. If I had booked more than one night, I would have needed to move.very sorry, but feeling I needed to message you. I feel like a moaning old git, just total honest feedback following me really looking forward to my experience… but as I am tall I noticed the smoke alarm on top of boiler, without batteries, this matter I feel is totally unacceptable, it possibly has been there a while as it’s made friends with a sock & gathered dust, the dust does not bother me in the slightest, as I don’t go looking for faults, I live in old cottage so dust & cobwebs as fine, we live in the countryside. Is there a current gas safety certificate? I did not see one around, these should be displayed I understand, I may be wrong, but it may have given me more confidence. Someone has to take responsibility regarding testing smoke alarms, as we all know smoke kills!

Beautiful location - very quiet. And the room is excellent. It is relatively small but well equipped and well priced.

If arriving in the dark, one must have your phone torch ready to make sure that the entry routine can be easily navigated. Not necessarily a dislike, more an observation.
