Es war ein erholsamer Urlaub. Wir empfehlen das Haus und die Umgebung gerne weiter.

Der Gastgeber war sehr freundlich. Als uns eine Antirutscheinlage für die Bedawanne fehlte, hat der Gastgeber die Einlage am gleichen Tag gebracht. Auch als das WLan aus externen Gründen Probleme machte, hat er uns sofort geholfen. Das WLan funktionierte danach einwandfrei. Das Haus war voller Bücher. Wir durften uns Lektüre ausleihen. Wir hatten für 6 Peronen einen wirklich ausreichend großen Esstisch in einem schönen hellen Raum mit einer gemütlichen Sitzecke, einem Balkon und einem Wintergarten.

Accueil très chaleureux du propriétaire très gentil qui parle français. La maison confortable, très spacieuse et joliment décorée. Quartier très calme. On s'y sent bien. Grand jardin bien clos. Belle situation pour visiter cette très belle région. Nous conseillons les yeux fermés.

Stunning home in a great location with phenomenal hosts

From the moment we walked in we were blown away. The photos and description don’t do it justice. The host met us on site to give us a handover, they even had the fires on and the table dressed for Christmas. There were 2 families, all up 4 adults and 3 children. We had more than enough space. The house is exceptionally well positioned, close to shops, walking tracks, and the local castle. It’s also a short drive to many other beautiful locations close by; it was a real shame we didn’t have more time to make the most of the area. Thank you to Christoph and Edith for making our stay, and our Christmas so special. Side note: unknown to us our youngest daughter left her teddy, Christoph contacted us to let us know and mailed it back to Austalia for us. Thank you again

Wonderful house, helpful host, quiet location in beautiful Colmberg.

The space was perfect for us 4 Women, and the number of bathrooms in the house (2 full & one 1/2) was perfect for us. Also having 1 room on ground floor was great for me, the mobility challenged one. The fruit trees in the garden had wonderful apples this time of year.

Exceptional

Colmberg is a quiet and charming small town(?), village(?), with a beatiful landscape and a castle above the town with a wonderful view of the surrounding hills. Its restaurants are also very good: we can recommend highly the Gutshof, the Schwarzer Adler and the Restaurant Burg Colmberg. The first two serve local specialities, the third one beyond that excellent game meals also. There are a lot of tourist attractions only max. half an hour by car from Colmberg: Bad Windsheim and its open air museum, the romantic town, Rothenburg o.d.T., the charming Herrieden with its old bridge over the Altmühl, for bird fans we highly recommend the Altmühl See, there is a "bird island" with a short nature trail and a big bird watching tower (barrier free!), a little bit farther (45 min.) Schwabisch Hall on the banks of the Kocher, Weikersheim and its grandiose castle and castle garden. We could have spent much more time in Colmberg, there were so many more that we couldn't see for lack of time. The guesthouse's atmosphere was impressive with its eclectic but very harmonius décor and furnishing, which was enhanced by the ambient lightning and a lot of candles everywhere It was also really very well equipped and super clean. We enjoyed the conservatory overlooking the garden the most (there were a lot of birds and squirrels directly around us), we ate our breakfasts there in the morning sunlight with using an exquisite and beautiful china tableware: coffee mugs, cups, teapots, saucers, bowls, smaller and bigger plates - all in all everything that one could imagine. The wifi was safe and really good and fast There are washing machine and dryer in the house: it was really comfortable that on the last day we could wash all of our clothes and could arrive home with clean, fresh things. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, they could give a lot of ideas as where to go and what to see.

− The followings are just insignificant details, one can live with them and they are dwarfed compared to the beauty and advantages of the house and the place: The rooms can be found on different floors - it was a little bit uncomfortable: we had to climb the stairs a lot. The floor was creaking especially in the rooftop. There was no microwave oven in the kitchen.
