Excellent location. Great property with a beachy vibe :) Beautiful, bespoke decor. I especially loved the star gazing window/skylight in the mezzanine bedroom!

− I know flyscreens are not common in NZ, but it would have been nice if the main sliding door had a flyscreen - to make it easier to cool down the living area at dusk (minus the mozzies)!

Reefers was perfectly located in the gorgeous place that is Kuaotunu. It was only minutes from the beach, practically next door to Luke’s Kitchen (one of the most popular eateries in The Coromandel) and Kua Kawhe ( a lovely cafe for great coffee and cabinet food). There is also a village store around the corner which sells basic supplies, pies and delicious ice cream. The accommodation itself was fabulous. It was very tastefully decorated and welcoming with lots of personality! The main living area and kitchen were well equipped and looked out towards the beach, the balcony area was a great place to relax, eat and enjoy the views. The bedrooms were all comfortable, with good quality bedding/pillows and the bathroom was clean with a good sized shower. The owners (Lee and hr husband) live on site but with separate access and are very generous, friendly and welcoming. They were great and strike the balance perfectly between being available when needed but also allowing privacy. Overall, we had a wonderful 8 night stay.

Great location. 15 wooden stairs to the apartment but there was an alternative

− It wasn't particularly comfortable and the layout of the apartment was unusual. Large bedrooms and very small bathroom facilities. Also well chewed by mosquitos

We were absolutely thrilled with this accommodation! It was designed and decorated with incredible attention to detail, and everything felt thoughtfully curated. The space was much larger than it appeared in the photos, which was a wonderful surprise. The view from the balcony – and even from some of the bedrooms – was simply phenomenal. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, and the place was spotlessly clean. We felt completely at home. The hosts were extremely friendly and responded quickly to any questions we had. We would return without hesitation!
