8.0The keys were in a lock box. Booking.com give the 4 digit code and this did not work. An hour later and after going through my emails, I saw a new code from the host which got us into the apartment. It would probably be best for booking.com NOT to give this upfront as it actually comes from the host a couple of days prior. Apartment was lovely. Had everything we needed and extras. Ironing board, iron, tea towel, washing up liquid, salt etc. All those little extra things were thought about and much needed. Apartment was clean and tidy. Very large and comfortable.

Potential but a really disappointing and stressful stay!
3.0The keys were in a box and easy to find and collect
− The heating and hot water didn't work in the property, so the apartment didn't meet the expectations of the rental. We did message the owners or maintenance team - they did respond however, they were not quick to resolve the problem and as we were only there for one night, it left me and my children in quite a predicament. The kitchen light was also flickering constantly and it really felt like this property had not had a proper check before renting on booking.com. I have made complaints to the management team of the property, who were apologetic; however, this property did not meet the required expectations of a rented property. The only compensation offered was a 20% off our next visit which, unfortunately when you have children, it isn't a risk I would be willing to take again and also I don't really travel to Mansfield often. They are reluctant to take responsibility and offer full refund. I think this shows the type of company managing this let. A shame as it does have opportunity but to take responsibility when things go wrong makes a huge difference.
