The view was amazing. The apartment is very spacious, which makes it comfortable for a family of 5. Authentic location.

− Narrow trail up the mountain makes it quite tedious/difficult to go from the village at the summit to the apartment. Cars and even public transport busses use this road both ways. This is not for beginning drivers.

Very nice appartment on the hill with great view on the lake. Nice old village.

− You need 15 minutes of focused driving up and down the hill. You need to carry your luggage some 200m from the car park to the appartment. The key hand over is 10 km away from the place.

Very clean apartment. Everything was tidy and nicely set out. Kitchen well equipped.

− Only negative about our stay would be the fact there was no water bottles in the fridge ready for guests to have once they arrive. Considering the apartment is quite far up in the mountain with no close by shops nearby, I was expecting at least a water bottle to be there once we arrived.

Located in the small village of Campagno above the Lago Maggiore, this apartment is a true gem. It's spacious and comes with a charming interior with lots of rooms to explore (feels like a maze at first, but you'll get the hang of the various ways to get into the different rooms). The kitchen has everything you need and some things we never figured out what they might be used for. We also never figured out how to get into the garden, but then that was ok since we've heard and seen wild boars roaming the shrubs so we stayed away anyway. ;-) Beds are clean and comfortable, All rooms were clean and tidy. But the best thing is the view over the lake - truly amazing! Host is helpful and providing all the information you'll need, just make sure not to ignore their e-mails (see below as to why).

− Probably completely my fault, but the apartment was hard to find in the first place. The location provided on booking.com is a parking lot in the centre of the village (helpful because that's where you need to leave your car) but isn't anywhere near the actual location of the apartment. You'll need to thoroughly study the information provided by the host to find the place at the end of a couple of narrow streets. So take my advice: Travel light, you'll have to carry everything over a couple of hundred metres. ;-) And another thing needs to be mentioned: To get to Campagnano you'll have to take winding roads wide enough for 1.5 normal cars, so every vehicle you'll encounter means a real adventure. The locals usually honk twice whenever they approach narrow spots, you might want to adopt this behaviour.
