9.0Amazing quirky design, lovely feel, felt like a home rather than apartment. Hosts are wonderful and kind. Really nice features like the homemade games. I strongly recommend getting the traditional breakfast.

10.0We had an absolutely wonderful three-night stay at Slow Travel Mývatn (Púfa) with Oli and Bianca, and we couldn't recommend it more highly. If you're looking for a truly authentic Icelandic experience, this is the perfect place. Every morning we enjoyed a different homemade Icelandic breakfast, lovingly prepared with delicious local ingredients. The accommodation itself is beautifully designed, with great attention to detail and many thoughtful touches. We also loved the small corner featuring local products that guests can discover and purchase if they wish. Oli and Bianca are incredibly warm and welcoming hosts who genuinely enjoy sharing their knowledge and passion for Iceland. They also propose some workshops: you can learn how to make your own skyr, bake traditional Icelandic bread, and even enjoy a fun nature trail created especially for children. The location is also outstanding, just minutes from some of the region's most spectacular attractions, including Hverfjall (which you can admire directly from the terrace!), Hverir, the Viti crater, the Mývatn Nature Baths, and many other highlights. What truly makes this place special is that it feels much more like staying with passionate locals than simply booking accommodation. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Iceland, and we are very grateful to Oli and Bianca for creating such a unique and memorable experience. We would return without hesitation and recommend Slow Travel Mývatn to anyone wanting to discover the real Iceland.
