The building itself is amazing and the dining/living room positively baronial with a fabulous ceiling, fireplace and balcony - all beautifully furnished in keeping with the age of the palazzo. The kitchen is small but adequate (as long as you don't need an oven). The location, on a quiet canal, is great and it is close to restaurants, shops and the lively atmosphere of Campo Santa Margherita.

Despite being in a less pretty location, close-ish to to the un-Venetian bus station, you'll be delighted to find yourself 1 minute's walk from the lovely Campo Santa Margarita. It's a pretty easy walk from there to Rialto or the ponte Accademia from which you can easily get to Saint Mark's Square. The apartment itself is lovely. The bed is excellent. Good bathroom! And the building itself is authentic and attractive inside and out. Anna, the host was extremely helpful.

− The induction cooker is not great. It took 25-30 minutes to boil a kettle of water! - so despite planning to cook some of our meals there, we didn't even attempt it. The journey from the bus station, on foot with luggage was pretty brutal. Many bridges, but that's par for the course in Venice. I'd advise you to travel with only a 10kg trolley case and backpack, and to leave the 20kg one at home. You probably won't be able to leave your luggage at the apartment after check-out, and you'll struggle to get 2 x20kg cases into the Vaise luggage locker at the bus station. I honestly can't think of another negative.

Wonderful venitian palazzo, the main room is huge and well equiped with typical look. Very welll located in Dorsoduro; 5mn walking from Campo Santa margerita

− the second bedroom is very small, fits only for teenagers (stairs are tricky for youger kids) who will only sleep in the room as there is no space at all.

本当に素敵なアパートメントでした。2年に一度ベネチアに来ています。スーパーの食材で料理がしたくて毎回アパートメントを選んで泊まっています。ここの部屋はとっても広くて可愛くて立地が良くて最高でした。

Our stay in the apartment at Palazzo Foscarini truly charmed us, mainly due to its atmosphere and location. Situated inside a historic palace, the apartment features a spacious living area with high historic ceilings and a fireplace, which adds a distinct charm. A major plus is the balcony facing the garden, providing a pleasant view and a peaceful spot to sit and relax. The location is excellent—just a few minutes' walk from Piazzale Roma, with great accessibility to both the Grand Canal and the Giudecca Canal. Overall, it is a very lovely and unusual place to stay in a remarkably quiet and enchanting part of the city. A bit of fine-tuning on details and technical amenities would significantly improve the comfort of the stay.

− On the other hand, there are a few drawbacks to keep in mind. The host lists a city view, garden view, and landmark view. In reality, the apartment only offers views of the garden and the inner courtyard. The photograph showing a view of the Church of Santa Maria dei Carmini can be misleading, as it was taken from the bridge and not from the apartment itself. The kitchen would benefit from proper pot lids. The washing machine is very outdated, showing rust, and the drum only spins during the spin cycle. The Wi-Fi drops frequently. Furthermore, cheap decor and a locked historic wardrobe unnecessarily ruin the feel of an authentic historical space—the latter, in particular, felt quite disruptive for a guest. Finally, the second bedroom is practically unusable in the summer heat.
