6.0lovely barn type house, but security an issue. Very rustic
− Security, no locked gated and no place for a motor bike to be parked where it could be safe. Lights in main bedroom were not working, even through we tried all the switches
Great accommodation, just lacking the personal touch
8.0It's a great location, quiet, private, comfortable, spacious. Dullstroom itself is wonderful. I was grateful for the fireplace.
− The biggest drawback for me that prevents me from giving this place a 10/10 rating is that it was so impersonal. I contacted the manageress, Les, prior to my arrival to find out some things, which she obliged, but once I arrived in Dullstroom, I didn't hear from her again. When I contacted her to ask about the loadshedding schedule, it felt like I was bothering her, so I didn't contact her again. Just small extra touches such as thanking me for leaving behind my extra firestarters for the next guests, would have been a nice touch. I have travelled extensively both nationally and internationally, and I've become accustomed to warm, welcoming, hospitable, personable hosts. And that was lacking here, unfortunately. This is, of course, just my personal preference.
