A beautiful old house. It takes you back in time—and I mean that in a good way. It features a lovely balcony and a large swimming pool shared with other guests, yet there are sun loungers available for everyone. The beds were narrow, but a larger bed wouldn't have fit in the room anyway. It serves as a great base for excursions into the national park and is about 30 minutes from Braga.

− Check-in didn't go smoothly. We had booked Casa do Mercador, but were told it was already occupied. It turned out the other guests were in the wrong place, but it took far too long for the man helping us to figure that out. I don't think he was the owner. It’s not exactly what you want after a long journey. Personally, I also don't like having dogs roaming freely outside our door and doing their business right there. It did get cleaned up every day, but still...

Great potential, but many details need improvement

The apartment is spacious and located in a good area for exploring the region. It is within easy driving distance of beautiful places such as Mata da Albergaria, Cascata do Arado, Portela do Homem and several praias fluviais, making it a convenient base for visiting the Gerês area. We also appreciated the swimming pool, the padel court and the fact that pets are welcome, which is a big plus for those travelling with dogs.

− Unfortunately, the apartment did not feel properly equipped or maintained. Basic items such as a corkscrew were missing, and when we ran out of toilet paper there was no way to get more, so we had to buy it ourselves. Some lights were not working, suggesting that routine checks are lacking. The apartment had a strong smell of humidity, and many curtains and window frames showed visible mould. Opening the windows helped with the smell, but the lack of mosquito screens meant the apartment quickly filled with flies. We later discovered that a rug in the bedroom smelled of dog urine. Sound insulation between apartments is very poor, and noise from the upstairs guests early in the morning made it difficult to sleep. The bedroom was also the only room without blackout curtains, which was inconvenient. Finally, the ground-floor apartment offers very little privacy because the shared garden is used as a passageway by other guests, so you either keep the curtains closed or feel like you're living in a fishbowl.

Gepflegte Anlage, alles wird regelmäßig gesäubert, sogar am Pool ist eine zusätzliche saubere Toilette, es gab eine Klimaanlage, obwohl dies nicht extra angegeben war

− die Betten sind etwas kurz, schätze 1,85 m... öfter Mal Stromausfall, kam aber immer zeitnah zurück, Küchenausstattung etwas mager, Herd hat nicht richtig funktioniert, Kühlschränke etwas schwach und nicht einstellbar

Tranquilidade, casa espaçosa equipada com tudo o que é necessário, bom Wi-Fi, toda a envolvência da casa, piscina excelente equipada com sanitários e um belíssimo campo de padel disponível. De registar também a simpatia e disponibilidade de todo o staff.
