6.0Overall, I'd rate our stay at Las Casitas Masdache positive, but with one big BUT... I'll start with the positives: - The property has a charming, idyllic atmosphere, with beautiful views, a wonderful garden, and a terrace. - The location is excellent for exploring the island (we had a car). - The cottage is also very well equipped; nothing was missing. - A plus for the electric heater (our stay was in mid-February, and the cottage was cool).
− Regarding the downsides: The property has a significant problem with running water. From the first day of our stay, we noticed there was no water at night from around 10:00/11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. I would have overlook this and been understanding, as I know that such water outages/breaks occur on the island, especially in small villages. However, the problem became serious after a few days of our stay. There was no water both day and night. There was a short period of time in the evening, and then we showered, washed dishes, and filled every empty water bottle, bucket, and bowl we could (by flushing the toilet). The owner responded to my report of the problem and promised that the water would return soon, but it never did. One day, we were so desperate that we returned from the nearby beaches every two hours to check if the water had returned so we could shower. We managed to catch a brief moment when there was water, but it was rushed and a bit stressful, and meant we couldn't fully utilize our vacation time to relax elsewhere on the island. Unfortunately, we used ice-cold bottled water to wash ourselves. I'm sorry to write this because I was delighted and enchanted by Las Casitas Masdache during the first few days of my stay. However, I'm writing this to warn future guests about this problem. Unfortunately, such frequent water shortages during a long-awaited vacation can ruin a lot. If it weren't for this unpleasant problem, I would gladly return on my next visit to the island.

10.0The cottage was beautiful, cosy, quaint and homely. We had everything we needed to make our stay an enjoyable and relaxing experience. The host Leo was exceptionally helpful, hospitable and kind. Whenever we had any problems, he fixed it immediately. He always made himself available if we needed kind of assistance. A beautiful quiet location with easy access to the rest of the island with a bus service which was located just by our accommodation. Beautiful scenic views of mountains, nearby beaches and loved Puerto del Carmen with the harbour, beach, shops, cafes and restaurants.
− There isn't anything. I just wished I could have stayed longer.
Nice little compact bungalow with everything you'll need
9.0Compact, well equipped and comfortable stay. We had everything we needed for a self catering stay. Rental price was very good and the owner Leo was very welcoming. He sorted out a couple of problems during the stay very quickly in person. There is plenty of outside space and seating with areas to shelter from the wind if needed. You can relax in the sun from sunrise right through until evening due to the layout. The location is very convenient for visiting anywhere on the island - only 15/20 mins by car to Arrecife or Costa Teguise, 15 mins into the national park and 25/30 mins down to Playa Blanca.
− Although the accommodation is rural, it is situated on the roadside near to a fairly busy crossroads and the traffic noise is noticeable from about 7.30am. There is also communal bin/recycling containers next door which resulted in some noise from slamming the lid and posting bottles. This would not put us off staying again in future though.
Cosy, comfortable, equipped with great facilities.
10.0Beautiful location, very comfortable bed - on the firmer side which was perfect for me (5’1”) and my much taller partner (6’1”) so that I didn’t roll into him. Beautiful view from the back terrace. The village is stunning, our favourite village on the island. Our host Leo was incredibly friendly and gave us a whole range of information about the island. Would definitely stay here again.
− There was a small issue with the water supply (common in rural parts of Lanzarote) but the host Leo was extremely quick to respond and resolved the issue quickly.
