Great booking, but annoying old school check-in

Pros: - location is 10 minutes walk from the Old Town - the apartment is spacious, it has it's own heating and cooling system, although the air conditioning is located on the hallway due to city's urbanistic regulations, but that wasn't a problem; - the bed is comfortable and pretty large; - you have utilities like: towels, shower gel, cleaning products, iron (although this was in a drawer in the room with curtains, if you have the other room reserved, ask the host), hair drier, washing machine, you can use the kitchen to prepare something by yourself; - the host agreed to let us have the room with curtains as we requested. You will find in the apartment a door locked which is strange, I pressume that's the other room without curtains. We were lucky no one reserved that room while we were there; - the area near the apartment is quiet, but the windows do not shut property, thus not isolating the sound, you can hear your neighbors from the ground level chatting and doing chores; - we paid 414 Lei for 2 nights which is a good deal; - the check-out process is straightforward, just lock the door and drop the keys in the mailbox, no more unnecessary interactions with the host.

− Constructive feedback: - no self check-in with the key locker system, you have to keep in check with the host; - the interaction with the host was awkward. At first we received a message through the Booking app from the host asking us to announce our arrival at the apartment 30 minutes before. We confirmed the message and also mentioned in the booking app the check-in hours (18:00-19:00). On the day of the arrival the host called us at 17:40, asking if we landed and about our arrival time. The host was asking us to talk to the bus driver if he had a bus station in a specific location so she could pick us up with her car, this was because she had tickets to the theatre at 19:00, thus making us depend on the host's schedule while we were on vacation. It was a back and forth conversation when this situation could've been easily avoided by having a self check-in locker system; - although she was in a hurry, the host insisted on showing us the apartment like we were toddlers, not to mention she entered with shoes on. She showed us every drawer from the kitchen, even the leftovers from previous guests that remained there (opened ramen noodles and flour, empty bottles); - the lights from the bedroom and kitchen are harmful for your eyes, instead of a warm or neutral light, the color temperature of the bulbs is around 8000K;
