Great place to stay in Cambridge.

Great location. Quiet, safe neighborhood, 20 min easy walk to train. Owners were quick to fix any issues, very personable. Bike rental right outside door. Very central location. Public parking available in town.

Disappointing experience in poorly maintained Victorian building near Harvard Square.

The location was good. A mile's walk from Harvard Square as expected. The bus stopped just outside the property. It was nice to have a deck as we had good weather, though it was not in great shape. Some of the beds were quite comfortable. And the host was responsive when I texted.

− First of all, there are not 5 bedrooms. There are only 4. And there are not 2 bathrooms. There are 1.5 bathrooms which means only one shower in the place. We were six women traveling to visit Boston. We would not have booked had we understood either of those facts. The building is pretty neglected, in much need of maintenance. And the rental is not the entire house, it is just an apartment. Both front doors to the building stick when being opened and closed and, upon entrance, there is an immediate circular stairway leading to the second (living) floor. The staircase continues to the third (2 bedroom, half bath) floor so beware of large suitcases, charming though the staircase is. Also be aware (although this is hopefully on the must-fix list) that the door from the kitchen to the deck does not lock. We rigged an "alarm" of clanging metal measuring cups hung from the door handle, just in case.

Overall, Great place to stay with family in a beautiful location.

Great location! Loved sitting on the deck outside. Nice that everyone had a room to themselves

− Difficult with only one shower. Street noise was a little noisy. Bathroom sink was a little run down in the downstairs bathroom.

Amazing location and historic house

Amazing location. Blue bikes and number 75 bus into Harvard literally outside front door. House has so much character. Yes it has a few issues but what old house like it doesn’t

The only positive aspect I would mention is that the location is very good, and the parking is adequate.

− The stay did not meet our expectations, mainly because the photos do not accurately represent the actual condition of the house. Although the rooms are the same as those shown in the pictures, their current state is completely different. The rooms are messy, with very old and deteriorated furniture, etc. For example, the kitchen was a complete disaster, with incomplete cutlery scattered everywhere, and we couldn't get the dishwasher to work. The table, the terrace door, and numerous other pieces of furniture were damaged and wouldn’t close properly, among other issues. It's worth noting that the house is advertised as being over 100 years old, which is not a problem in itself, but the real issue is that it’s poorly maintained and disorganized.

Charming historic home in a great location in Cambridge. Responsive host, felt like home.
