10.0The remoteness
Lovely spot for long Easter weekend
8.0Good communication with hosts re arrival times, home made bread and shortbread were a nice touch, great to have a fire waiting for us upon our arrival, sunset views over farm fields were absolutely stunning!
− Would've been nice to be able to have access to sink to wash dishes. NB: no lock on internal door to living area - hosts have access to area of main entrance next to bathroom.
BnB with a difference
9.0Lovely people, very cosy accomodation. A bit more on offer than an average BnB. Lovely little touches plenty of breakfast stuff like cerals, bread, home made jams and marmalade. It did state breakfast included in price, we did expect an english cooked breakfast but this cost was extra. This wasnt made clear on booking.com so a point marked down for that. But dont let that put you off staying as plenty to eat.....very comfortable beds and great nights sleep.
− The road down is very very rough, so u have to take it extremly steady at 3 miles an hour, unless u have a 4x4. Extra care needed to drive your car down. ... Very over priced for a dog to stay at 25 pound overall. We stayed two nights but even if you stayed one night would still be £25, this seems very steep in comparison to other BnB,s we have stayed in.
Rhydgalad farm
4.0Likes : the wood burner was lovely , clean & comfortable beds , homemade jams & bread , biscuits on arrival , quiet location , recliner chairs were lovely . Dislikes : Only engaged with Paul ( one of the owners ) during our stay , as was told by Paul that Lindsey was in bed. And even though we saw her through our window on Sunday evening sat on their decking , she made no contact with us . On returning sat eve from a day out we found the bathroom and bedroom very cold ( living area was warm due to wood burner ) , we asked Paul to put the heating on, he told us to leave the doors open so the fire would warm it up ! . He told us it was a new heating system and the thermostat shut the heating down . We asked how do we dry wet towels , and that we would have to change towels daily as they were too wet , he told us " Would you change your towels after two days ! " We told him he had a terrible attitude , and it seemed that he did not want to go out of his way to help us ( even though we were paying guests ) He reluctantly apologized , we also asked for more milk as we would not have enough , he said it should last , and he wasn't planning on going out , so if we needed more he would give us the money and we would have to buy it . The place is advertised as b & b , but this is not the case , as there was no food service , unless you Bought a cooked breakfast , you basically had to do your own breakfast which is nearer to self catering . Overall we felt like we were an inconvenience , we have stayed in many different accomodations where the owners have provided an excellent service and have gone out of their way to help and provide for their paying guests . This was not the case here , also track to the farm is terrible and will damage your car if driven over too fast . We will not be returning , as we found the overall experience here not good at all . Lastly we found there was too much furniture in the living area , this should be addressed...
