Could be a great hotel in the future

The room we ended up in was spacious. The manager/front-desk person was fairly responsive.

− We booked a room for one night originally, but wanted to add a few more nights. We booked a different room, hoping we would get one away from the street (the road was full of traffic most of the morning and evening). The second room had a broken shower, there was a puddle of water soaking the carpet in front of the sink, and when we returned in the evening, the entire room smelled like a septic tank. The manager was as helpful as he could be, under the circumstances. We moved back into the original room and stayed there for the remainder. It should be mentioned that the shower head and hose in this room is also on its way out, but we were at least able to take a shower. No one came to clean the room, empty the trash, or refill the water during our time there. We never grabbed any breakfast on offer. It was instant coffee and apples and oranges. It was a decent location and hotel, and we weren't actually upset about any of this, but I think it is worth mentioning that this place could be a lot better of a hotel if some minor changes were made. There is another hotel that I have stayed at in the past on the other side of the old town that has a higher rating on booking and none of the above-mentioned issues for the same price.

The room is beautiful and well equipped and the owner is nice.

− The indicated location is wrong ! Hence the bad grade because I was lost for 30min before getting an answer with the correct location.

The hostel located in the Dukezhong Acient City, which is super convenient and easy to walk around the Acient town and have many options for food. The guesthouse's architecture is very beautiful, with an ancient Tibetan style. Staff is friendly and helpful even their English is not quite good. They have free breakfast and many free snacks, tead and coffee. The hostel in the road that car is allow to get in, so it is easy to get to the hostel without walking with heavy luggage.

− It is hard to find the hostel with Google Maps, it is better to find in Amap app with Chinese name of the hostel 月上蓝山.

Authentic architecture and décor with modern amenities right in the ancient town.

Location - Being in the ancient city area added authenticity and also meant there was plenty of access to a wide variety of shops and eating places. It was very easy to get a DiDi when needed. Room - much of the décor and architecture seemed original. The addition of a modern bathroom and fireplace makes the room more comfortable. Service - friendly and willing to help with just about anything guests asked them about. Breakfast - the breakfast was very basic with only a few items available.

− We booked the room a bit over two months in advance. We advised them at the time that we were expecting a late arrival due to the arrival time of our flight. When we arrived around the time we had originally advised there was no-one at reception and no way of contacting them. When someone finally arrived at reception it seemed that they had no record of our booking or of our late arrival. We were provided with bigger room for the same price. When we were taken to the room, the heater was switched on but it took many hours for the room to warm up. The bed had an electric blanket but with no controller to attach it to the power.
