Staycation worthy❤️

10.0

The hotel is nice, quiet and accessible to Tesco, bus stops, few pubs and cafes nearby, and beach. It is just a bus ride to St Ives town center as well, if you're the type of person who doesn't like crowd, this is the perfect place to stay. They have a dining room and a big patio and garden which is perfect for families and children. There's no lift, and staircase are narrow, you'll be lucky with heavy luggage staying on the ground floor but we stayed in the 2nd floor, and the view from the garden and the beach is worth it too.

Avoid like the plague

2.0

Stayed here over New Year’s Eve. Firstly we were stuck outside for well over 20 minutes only to be let in by other guests. Room was tiny with poor features, such as; Inconsistent water temperatures either freezing cold or boiling hot. Cold temperature in room - although radiator was set at full temperature setting. No room to stand and use handheld shower. As well as this staff seemed to be non existent and even rude when arriving at the hotel. I would really recommend looking elsewhere if you are staying in the area!

Good value place to stay

8.0

This was a good value place to stay. Room very clean, several small flights of stairs to room but this wasn't an issue. Fridge freezer in communal room very useful. Located close to Tesco which has a Costa coffee shop and directly opposite pathway leading to coast walk to Carbis Bay beach and St.Ives. Plenty of parking space.Would stay again and make use of the buses. There was a bus timetable in the hallway to refer to.

Cosy, quaint, but a little eerie.

8.0

Just returned after a three night stay. Room was comfortable with a lovely view, although the bathroom was a little dated. Outside had a lovely decking area where I often enjoyed breakfast or a beer. One thing that surprised me was how eerily quiet the place was, despite being summer, I hardly ever saw another person. But all in all nice place to stay, and a perfect location 5-10 minutes walk from the beach, and 20 minutes to the front of St Ives.

Visit to st merryns hotel st Ives

Although the location of this hotel is great ie 15 min walk to carbis bay beach, the owners need a reality check in terms of what they are offering. Breakfast was not included in tariff £130 per night but no water provided in room, no fan, no fridge in room and dated bathroom where shower flow was no less than a drip. Ref fridge there was only one in communal room but this was full to brim so difficult to put all stuff in fridge Recommendations 1. At least provide a continental breakfast as have to put something back in to guest experiences 2. Provide bottled water in room. It’s a basic requirement 3. Install mini fridges in rooms so not trying to squeeze in one’s products to full fridge 4. Improve shower facilities so water flow is reasonable 5. Location is great but need to add a few more positives to make the overall experience one to remember

Do you like living in 1960's?

4.0

Travelled here with a coach company. Could go into much more detail about this place. It has had good reviews in the past but I understand it was up for sale not too long ago and the owners have decided to stay on but obviously have not bothered about doing it up. It certainly was not up the standard that I would normally choose. A few things that should be changed are unhygenic carpet on bathroom floor, bathroom suite that doesn't match, staff that need lessons in politeness, breakfast ok but evening meal not brilliant. All in all if you had stayed here in 1960's you'd have thought it was brilliant but if it wants to survive it needs bringing into the 21st century. Would I stay here again - never. My verdict - Don't bother.
